I've accidently intrupted the file transfer on my P990i to PC, now the problem is, my memory stick is not working on PC but other memory stick is works Perfectly!

You'll have to reformat it by the sound of it. Alternatively if you have a card reader you could try putting it in there and then running a scandisk on it. |

thanks alot for the response.
I've tried alomost everything, which include:
- External Memory Format (Phone)
- Internat Memory Format
- Master Reset
- Update Firware
- Memory Format Through Card Reader
Well I've tried scan disk that you mentioned I going to try it on first place! But when I tried to open the memory card through card reader, and try to copy anything it says Card is Full, which is actually not the case.

That follows for a interrupted file transfer. A reformat in a card reader should sort it, or a scan from windows (right click on the drive in my computer, properties -> tools -> error checking -> check now) it may well report that its fixed an error or found a "file fragment" which it then recovers. You should be able to delete this file. I think they get called something like recovered.chk or similar. This will then account for a large part of the space on the disk. |

Thanks alot for all the help pnf, in all this process I'd somehow corrupted my memory stick  Is there a way to fix that? |

If you can not format using the phone, you'll have to use a card reader on the PC.
On SD cards I recomend the Panasonic software (http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/sd/download/sd_formatter.html), but it may not work on MemorySticks...

I don't think that Memory sticks - being solid state flash memory - can corrupt in the same way that a hard disk can. You should be able to insert the disk into a card reader and use windows to format it again, it should then work in your p1.
If this process isn't working then you need to check how you are formatting it. make sure you are formatting it as FAT rather than anything else. |

It's FAT32.
Yes, flash disks can become so corrupted that not even Windows can read them. My Canon camera already played that trick on me, and the Panasonic low level format was the only one that saved me.

Thats interesting then, having to do a low level format indicates that a sector in the card became unwritable. Flash cards DO have a limited number of re-writes (FAT is a particular problem for flash cards - the allocation table can quickly use up these available re-writes) but the card in your case must have some un-allocated to allow for sector re-mapping where a cell becomes unusable.
I hadn't thought of that, adnnan how old is your memory stick? if it is quite old and been used alot (lots of re-writes to it) then it may well just be worn, nothing will bring it back to life in this case. I'd certainly try the low level format that LAU mentioned, you don't have anything to loose at this stage, but given the low price of flash sticks these days I'd just replace it. |

Don't worry. The flash card makers know the amount of writing a sector handles, so the card reallocates a new physical area in the card once the write count of an area has been reached.
This is transparent for FAT (it's even in a lower level than FAT).
This is why nobody defragments flash cards.
As for the corruption, it can simply happen if the card was removed or the power failed while in a write operation - like removing the battery while the phone was working.

Yes I tried almost every trick in my pocket but all in vain, anyhow I purchased new one as soon as the old one get the msg of corrupted but i'm hoping that I can fix that corrupted MS and then share that knowledge with other  |

i think m2 is not good than mmc. i have mmc, and never be corrupted. Anyone can help us and share, how to repair m2? |

obviously m2 sucks. I was reading several forums about such a this problem and it seems there is no reliable solution found... |
