I own a K800i and for the past month or two I and a friend of mine have been receiving calls in the middle of the night at around 3am from withheld. It happens like once every few days, and seems to be only me and my friend which we both have Sony Ericssons. We have asked everybody that knows our numbers to please stop, but still no luck. How can I either trace, block, any little trick to not bug me while I sleep, besides turning my cell off at night.

There has to be an option to block all withheld calls, c'mon these aren't LG's here... its a freakin' Ericsson!!!

Also I'm using AT&T here is USA, and called them up on two separate occasions and they said there is nothing they can do.

I'm very close to involving the police but since there is no threats from the caller I doubt the fuzz can do anything

Please I will do anything that can help.

if you're going to put it on silent while asleep then you may as well turn it off, but clearly that obvious answer is not what is being asked here. The OP wants it to stop.

I'd suggest reporting it as harrasment to your phone company and they can take action to stop it.

Oh my! I own a Sony Ericsson P990i and I am from Norway.

These guys or whatever they are just called me too!! All the phone says is "withheld", and it is not showing any number. They called me two times at 23:23 this evening. The second time, I was fast enough to answer the phone, and all I heard before they hung up was a split second of a male voice. It sounded like my own though as I said "Hello?". What is this? If he, it or she is going to start calling me in the middle of the night, I'm going to freak out!

... hmm, go to settings, ... select tabs until you see 'manage calls' go into it until you find 'accept calls' go into that and i think you should be able select it so you would only 'accept' phone calls from list, or in contacts.. etc. any other person would just get busy tone or divert to voicemail without ringing. It's in setting somewhere... check it out.

This requires some sort of lock code, which (I think!) can be acquired from the operator.

... lock code?.. na.. think you've got the wrong part.

Goto Menu, settings, it's the 4th tab across till u see 'Manage calls'
then to accept calls

NB, i think on the k800 you would have to make a list with the people you would like to receive calls from 3 in the morning. . u can then then turn it off later.. give it a go for a week or two.. normally the "stalkers" give up, otherwise contact your provider.
... i smile at utter chaos.

On my phones, it has always asked for a code to unlock this feature Try it out, I'm sure you can't use it without entering a code (sorry, but it doesn't sound like you've tried it, as you wrote "i think")

I've got the handset in from of me....
perhaps the UK specs are little different. I've got a generic firmware.. and I sell SE on daily basis. Never been asked for lock code... try 00000 if not, you'll have to ask your provider.

nb. i did check it out also before posting back.

Oh carp(the fish)! I should really improve my english! I just got my Sony Ericsson, and my last phone (LG) told me "unknown" (in norwegian) when someone with a hidden ID called. Now listen to this! I actually though Withheld was some kind of company or organisation trying to call me!! ^^ (sometimes when getting text messages from organisations, the name shows up and not the number) hahaaa how silly is that. I'm just not used to "Withheld" being the term for "I don't know who the frack is calling". *slapping myself in the face* Sorry to bother you, guys! I'm sure this information that you put out will be useful for other people.
Thanks alot though =)
