Some of you may already have heard about this, but whats most interesting are the parnters that have joined up already....
"Welcome to the Open Handset Alliance™, a group of more than 30 technology and mobile companies who have come together to accelerate innovation in mobile and offer consumers a richer, less expensive, and better mobile experience. Together we have developed Android™, the first complete, open, and free mobile platform."
"We are committed to commercially deploy handsets and services using the Android Platform in the second half of 2008. An early look at the Android Software Development Kit (SDK) will be available on November 12th.
Building a better phone for consumers
Today, there are 1.5 billion television sets in use around the world. 1 billion people are on the Internet. But nearly 3 billion people have a mobile phone, making it one of the world's most successful consumer products. Building a better mobile phone would enrich the lives of countless people across the globe. The Open Handset Alliance™ is a group of mobile and technology leaders who share this vision for changing the mobile experience for consumers."

yeah finaly
of what i've read i'm getting quite excited about it.
since many major companies are joined together to use this (hopefully) stable system
It's a stripped linux OS, with a java shell.
Hope java doesn't slow down the overall feeling and handleing of the phone | |
