Mexican authorities have made what they say is one of their largest drug seizures after finding 23.5 tons of cocaine at the port of Manzanillo.

The drugs, with an estimated street value of more than $400m (£192m), were found in by the Mexican navy in cargo containers on a ship from Colombia.

The seizure dwarfed the 11.5 tons found last month at the port of Tampico.

I think 23 tonnes of coke has more than enough power to kill more than 400 people!!

Are these metric tonnes? so 1000kg? if so.. I make 23 tonnes to be worth a street value of £1,150,000,000, 1g should cost you about £50.....

A billion pound drug bust..

someone's gutted!!

god, imagine a cargo container full of coke! thats insane. they would make even more money off it, that would have been pure and not cut with anything. dealers put all kinds off shit in to it to double their profits.

@tranced:

this is one piece that qualifies as "good" news (at least for me, personally)!

i'm wondering what could have been if the said coke eventually ended on the wrong hands...

thanks for the wonderful info, mate! cheers!

ermm... it would have been sold and people would have got high on it, some people have even have got addicted to the stuff and some may have died, but that's drugs for you.

@fatreg:

i was actually thinking of the same, its kind of a metaphor you know

that would really wreck a lot of lives had the drugs went into the wrong hands.

cheers, mate!
