Finally decided to get a mac..never tried on in my life but since getting an iphone and loving it ..decided to try mac.
i was originally going to get a mini..the better spec model.
But im now undecided on whether to go for the basic macbook or for £100 more the basic imac or save a bit a just get the mini.
If i was to get the macbook id say 80% of the time id use it connected up to a 24'' monitor + keybaord.etc
being my first mac do you think a mini would be suitable?.
really indecided on what to do.
what would you guys get being a first mac?
Thanks

I'd go with the MacBook. You get to take it around with you and will appreciate the portability you have with it as well.

I have a MacBook and think its great! It looks awesome, its fast, its lightweight and portable. If you get the new Mac OS X Leopard with it, it comes with Boot Camp. This means that you'll be able to switch between Windows and Mac OS whenever you like! (That is, it comes with a feature where you can Windows installed too!) Meaning theres next to no reason not to buy a Mac!
If you want a case or sleeve for carrying it, I highly recommend http://mac-case.com/ - I got a Mac-Case sleeve for mine.

i don't care what you buy just make sure it's a mac!!
Macs rock good and proper, the only downside to the macbook is the white gets very dirty by the mouse touch pad...

If you think you wont have any use for a notebook then maybe get a mini, but i would still get the macbook because if you decide in the future you want a laptop you already have one and i think you get more for your money with a macbook, with the mac mini you dont get no screen, heyboard, mouse (trackpad) speakers |

Thanks guys for you input...I think itll be the macbook.
Ive noticed that theyve updated the graphics chip + amongst other things which are showing on the US site today.
Is this the rumord macbook update or is there supposed to be a newer updated mac later this month/year?
