is it possible to use the M2 4 gb card in the W880?

Has anyone got higher than the 2gb card recommended by Sony ?.

If so how many tracks can you get on this ?

I have approx 2500-3000 tracks on my IPOD but would like to have this functionality on a phone thus meaning one less item I have to carry.

Hi,

Thanks for that information that is good news.

I presume you used the disc2phone software to get it into that format ?. Should it hold about 4000 - 4500 tracks in that format ?

no, i use the M3 converter. you can do a search on it here on esato to find out more about it.

i suppose an average of 1MB per track would be possible using a lower bitrate, and an average of somewhere in the region of 3 min per song. i use a 64kbps bitrate, and since most of my music is jazz, with many very long tracks, i can't come close to having 4000 tracks on it.

in my case, i have a little over 2,000 tracks on my M2, and have about 360MB free space left. mind you, when the M2 is completely empty, you are not starting from 4,000MB anyway.
