I MAY HAVE LOST MY PHONE!...some questions... |

sorry for screaming, but i'm really upset and worried right now. just came back from dinner, only to find that i misplaced my Ericsson T68. in a panic, i called my friends with whom i went out w/, thinking i left in their cars...no luck. called the restaurant were we dined, at first they said no signs of a phone. called back and insisted they looked again, they said they found it in the restroom (i used the restroom right before leaving). they took my name and home #, and said they would put it in their safe. i can pick it up tomorrow (too late to pick it up tonite).
first worry:they better keep their word. i don't want it to mysteriously disappear tonite.
a question:since this phone is not yet supported by voicestream here in the US, is there any way to insure the phone? for cases like this?
this has NEVER happened to me before; don't know what happened. this is very careless. my T68 is awesome, best phone i've ever had, by far. plus its got all my contacts, and the darn thing set me back $500!
i don't know if i'll be able to sleep tonite...they better have placed my phone in their safe.
thanks for any info regarding insurance

I believe you will get your phone back. Sometime ago, I left my StarTAC (was the craze during those times) at the toilet of a building in 701 Gateway Boulevard in South San Francisco. I was already having lunch when I noticed I left it. So I went to the building security and asked about it. They said they have a StarTAC but I have to prove it is mine, so they asked for the phone number and phone PIN (this is CDMA StarTAC, so no SIM). After I have given the information, they gave it to me and told me, "be careful next time."
I didn't answer you insurance question because I don't know.

Here in Azerbaijan, when your phone gets stolen, you just have to phone your local operater and give them your details together with the IMEI number of your phone and then they can trace it. Every time your phone is used, the IMEI number appears in some office somewhere together with the number that is using it. So the thief will be traced down immediately and you'll get your phone back and press charges against the thief...
Good luck!

Here in the Philippines you can report to your network provider the IMEI number of your stolen phone. Your stolen phone will then be locked or banned from all the networks here. Maybe it will work that way there? |

In Belgium too, you give your IMEI and they block the phone not permanent of course |

I hope they do that in Spain as soon as posible cause is getting kind of dangerous to use an expensive mobile out there sometimes and nothing you can do about it right now, well yes, buy a new one. |

Here in Norway, you can insure your phone via your operator. For a little fee (2,5 euro/month) you are insured in case if your phone gets stolen or damaged. Very nice! |

In Singapore, if the phone is lost, the mobile service providers will not block the phone or trace it for you. |
