Using Bluetooth to connect to internet via computer's connection on a W910i |

Hi all
I've read through several threads in various forums but still can't seem to solve the problem. My laptop and phone is already paired, and I did the PAN thingy. However I don't see any "bluetooth account" in my phone. So yeah, kinda lost here. Anyone has the phone and has it up and running?
Help is very much appreciated |

Sorry, i cant fully solve ur problem cos i cant remember the thread that had an excellent link that puts you through step by step. If u can search the threads i have posted on (they are not many, but focus on the ones in infrared, usb and bluetooth conns) and u should get it. Im on the move now, if not i'd have done it myself. Pls post up thelink if u do. If u dont PM me, i can post it up in a few days. Good luck. |

I really like to solve the same "problem". Anybody have an easy "step-by-step" manual for how to connect my w910i to the Internet via my PC`s Internet connection?

You must have the broadcom/widcomm software to make this work, so
Click the bluetooth icon in the notification area and select 'advanced configuration' click on 'local services' and click on 'network access' and click properties then select allow other devices to access internet:
Bridge the Local area network connection with the bluetooth connection in the network connections menu:
(If you have a dial-up bluetooth connection in your network connections dont add that to the bridge)
Pair the W910i with the computer, now on the W910i got to 'settings' 'connectivity' 'internet settings' what I did here to stop the phone using the phone internet is create a dummy account with no settings in it so the connection would always fail. Then go to 'Allow local conn.' and put that to 'on'.
Once you've done all that go to 'Bluetooth', then 'My Devices' if you move down over your computer it should say 'Connect' over the middle hotkey. Press 'connect' at this point you'll have to go back to the computer to authorize the connection, you'll have to do this the first time you connect whilst the computer is on, there is no easy way to turn this off.
Once the phone is connected there should be a small computer logo at the top of the screen of the phone, thats it the phone can now use the computers internet connection, you won't be able to go to your network providers homepage but you should be able to go anywhere else.
There shouldn't be a globe icon at the top of the screen when you're using the computers internet:
When you're done you can 'Disconnect' the computer in 'My devices'.

USB connection is better than bluetooth and more faster and very easy to config, why not trying for it?

Yes, that would work just fine. I used to use Broadcom but have a friend who used BlueSoleil. I now use the vodafone 3G/HSDPA modem. |

Bluesoleil works wonders for me... It's the only kit supporting my noname bluetooth adapter which won't work with widcomm drivers... Also it works on XP, Vista and Windows 7. I have connected a P1, g900 and M610 with it til now...
P.S. for other phones (mainly DB2010 and 2020 platform- don't know if it works with the new platforms) you can use the sony ericsson SDK and it's option to start java app in the phone using your pc which allows it to use the PC's internet connection with the phone.
