Hi mario2004

Yes upgraded as soon as possible as it meant i could change my product code and get rid of all the Voda rubbish which really was annoying me. At last my device is how it should be a i must say even with the VODA firmware it has run really well, only suffered a few slow access to Multimedia Menu and the Music player as i deleted some of the Voda included Albums that only deleted the Album tracks nad not the Album and a known problem with the Voda version. All run nice and fast and smooth now so am very happy with just so much Ram just over on boot up 90mb and around 84mb with 12-14 apps running in the background no more out of memory errors that's for sure and did i mention this thing is really fast in all that it does.

@Seanyb2

I agree with what you say as although IMO the Camera is good comparing it to a Digital SLR is just ridiculous nad a really stupid thing to say IMO. How ever much Camera's in phone advance i seriously doubt they will ever be the same quality as a dedicated Camera never mind a DSLR.

dogmann..(NO OFFEND)....BUT this pics looks quite bad, (i hope you see that yourself !!!!

im used to see ordinary N95 daylight pics, who means pics with overdone contrast/colors by it after-editing software.........

you realy need to uppdate your software...(this pics looks bleached, and have NO Nokia colors/contrast)

like i said...no offend..................

see the different between colors & sharpness on this pics....(i know N95 can produce something better daylight pics then this...but it have a worse sensor for low light & cloudy weather...maybe, just maybe N95 8gb have non optimized software yet)

Yet again Plank you compare retouched K850 images with a bad example of what the N95 is capable of - no offence Marc.

After using both phones I can say the image quality is superior (not far superior though) to that of the K850 in all lights except for pitch black.

JPEG compression artefacts are not as visible on the N95. Colours are better balanced.

In a pitch black room the Xenon flash of course out does the one in the N95, but even so I can take good pics in a dark room. Just not as good as the Xenon packing K850.

N82 addresses the balance here.

Video quality is not comparable at all. K850's video is shocking compared to the N95.

I am not missing the K850 camera one bit.

Add to this the feature set that the N95 has and you have a far more satisfying device that Sony can produce these days.

N95 manage ONE thing good, and thats daylight pics..(ive not seen ONE single low light, indoor pic from N95 whos better then k850)...end of story

ps..why do you still have your k850 avatar if you not have one...???...he he

@plankgatan

The picture you chose has that weird effect as the sunlight is breaking through the clouds i just liked the effect and as i have pointed out i am a rubbish photographer and all pictures are single shots and all just point and shoot. Maybe you missed the irony in my post where i said for your pleasure/ amusement.

Still, who would buy a digital camera where the battery lasts 1 day? Yes, thats you Mr N95. I know I would be steaming after a weekend trip away without my charger. Well, disable the 3g you Nokia people will say. Yea, and then email a few friends when I have an hour spare on GPRS. All I know is I get 3 days from my K850, taking many photos, sendin many emails and texts and the whole time connected via bluetooth to my watch. Can you do that Mr N95?

Long live SE!

DarKMaGiCiaN:

The N95 and K850 are just nothing special for pictures. Both are just, well, camera phones.

The point of this thread is simple. Which camera phone takes the better pictures, right? If your a pro, like Mr. Plank make it sound to be, you'd buy a nice DSLR. But no, he'd rather fiddles with all the settings possible to get a nice shot with his K850 and not use his God given talent with a real dedicated camera.

Me, I'm more like Dogmann, point and shoot with AUTO settings. Based on the pics here the N95 is the better device for that duty. And I'm sure most user just do that, turn the camera on, point and shoot and expect a semi-decent pic. The N95 does it better than the K850, that's all. No need to fight or argue any further.

Back to your pic, The K850 sky is purple and the N95 is not perfect either, but it's blue and not purple. IMHO, the n95 has the better sky representation just because it's blue not purple-ish.

@JiSm

Do you always believe whatever rumours you are told as the fact is i have the N95 8GB and even with listening to Music and taking a few pictures plus surfing via WiFi. I have not run out of power in a day in fact i have even forgotten to charge it one night and still lasted another day.

Maybe sometimes you shouldn't just believe what you are told and anyway are you seriously telling me it is that hard to charge a phone last thing at night. So big deal if a dumb Camera phone lasts 3 days who cares, unless plugging a phone into a charger is really to taxing to do once a day.

Not forgetting of course that the original N95 has just a new firmware that gives it Demand Paging which should improve battery life but up to 25% and increase it's Ram by another 50% to just over 30mb and of course is now rock solid and stable and fast very unlike a lot of poor K850 owners devices isn't it?
