No...

I only restarted mine once during the first 7 weeks (just to swap the sim), but now I have restarted it many times since I got a new memory stick which I have been plugging in and unplugging quite a few times.

I have never had an unwanted restart or crash though!

Why are you turning it off when changing memory stick? You can change then while it is turned on.

Mine has had TomTom crash once, needed a restart and I restarted it after a firmware upgrade because you have to. Apart from that it's been running pretty much continuously since I got it on the first week of release.

A very stable phone if you ask me.

No, he said he had to swap the sim card.

P1, of course! With the P990i I had to restart it daily, sometimes even 3 times/day.

If you reread his post he says he restarted to swap sims once and then several times to change memory stick.

I wasn't aware of that. I guess M$ has eternally damaged me to think that the world will come crashing down unless I press 'safely remove hardware' first!

Anyway I turned it off to make sure nothing got corrupted. A bit stupid now that I think about it since I guess it doesn't really write much to the memory stick 'on the fly' just mainly read.

..until my battery ran out some time in the night last week, it had been running without a restart since around the second week in september or so. When I flashed the phone, after I tried to restore an old backup over the new firmware version..

(After that I had to restart the phone once because the handwriting recognition software stopped working, though.. It works fine again now, for some reason.. So, I've had four hangs since I bought the phone. Twice while pushing the "back" button in the browser while wlan was connecting. Once when running the wayfinder. And once because of the handwriting software. I can't reproduce the hangs now, though..)

@701, I wonder if all P1s can achieve a comparable uptime. With my previous P990 I had 18 days+ until I manually had to do a restart for some other reason. With my second P990 I got a restart almost everyday, now I'm waiting for my replacement P990 from SE.
Obviously not all the P990s were created equal, so I wonder what the situation with the P1 is...
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD
