How to make/set up a wap site? |

Hey,
I´m thinking of setting up a wap site for my company. I need some help, though... What do I run the site on? I have a Win NT4.0 server with IIS4 running the www site. Can IIS4 run the wap site also? If not, what can i use instead? Any Freeware?
XHTML or WML? Any good editors available?
Unbeliveably grateful for any info u can supply on this subject. |

Try google search for example. Try to find stuff like wap page creator or something like that. I tried for a few times with different related words and found bunch of freeware. Can´t remember the names though, sorry.

it works fine using IIS for wappages... you only need to configure these MIME types:
.hdml - text/x-hdml
.wml - text/vnd.wap.wml
.wmlc - application/vnd.wap.wmlc
.wmls - text/vnd.wap.wmlscript
.wmlsc - application/vnd.wap.wmlscript
.bmp - image/bmp
.wbmp - image/vnd.wap.wbmp
once these are configured you need to reboot the computer...
a swedish guide for wap can be found here

Thanx Cytech!
Does anyone know if it´s possible to retrieve data from an SQL server 7.0 database, like asp pages does?
Maybe the Nokia mobile internet toolkit does it? If not, any other editor that does? Or if no editor does it, do you know the syntax?
Whats the best "language" to use? WML? XHTML?

sure it does!
do the same thing as when using ASP for HTML pages, the only difference is that you use WML code instead of HTML code
just remember to include the WML header...
You can see example code on http://www.devarticles.com/art/1/85/4 |
