I was just wondering if there is such a program that allows you to use your SE via PC. For example, your SE connected to your PC via USB.. then when an incoming call is active, a popup window comes up saying there's a call with calldisplay and everything.. and your desktop speakers would become active while you use the external mic plugged to your computer..

is there such a thing?????

technically not impossible (car kits operate like this) but you will need more than just a pc and the phone.

I wouldn't think that a user would need more than the phone and the pc..it's just a matter of programming and utilizing your soundcard. Do you think people would use it? I for one would use it for sure.

well, you guys do have a point. I was just wondering because I live in a basement where the signal strength is next to none. I have to keep my phone right by the window, and when i do get calls, i have to awkwardly stand and squish my face against the window. =)

That's why i was asking so that way i would be able to just keep my phone right by the window without trying to make all kinds of weird postures hehehehe but it was only a question?!!!

well maybe you can try this...
Place the phone next to the window and use the BT software on your PC (so you can send SMS, see caller ID, etc on the monitor). Then to talk, use your BT headset.

What software is available for that to happen? I've pretty much downloaded all that software that has been stated as sticky in this forum. Do any of those allow the PC for a window to popup with CallerID and TextAlert?

My PC doesn't have bluetooth and i don't plan on purchasing a USB BT anytime soon as it is not a priority as of yet, but if i have to, then i'd have to right?

Can you connect to BT pieces simultaneously? the headset and the PC at once?

Yes, bluetooth can function simultaneously both on the pc and headset. I would advise purchasing the TDK bluetooth stuff, it's great. Tested most of them and find that for stability, nothing beats it...and the range, up to 100m, that's right, 100m, not the 10m that the phone is subject to. So the pc just reaches right out and touches the phone. I know this because there are more than 50 feet between the front door and the desk where my laptop sits..and when I enter the room, my assistance tells me that the dun pop up states that it is now connected via bluetooth and 10mbps.

Make sure once you have the hardware, use the latest versions of the drivers and software available both from your hardware vendor and Ericsson...There are so many things that you can do once you open that door..just wait.

I'm going to start a new thread over at a buddy's forum dedicated to the actual "use" of the high-tech abilities of these fones, not just flashing software and firmware...check it out
