You don't understand me. I say that is there any possibility to make MXE-60 compatible with P1i. I know the P1i doesn't have a xenon light.

Taken from the official SE webpage:

K510i
K610i
K750i
W550i
W700i

So, unless your phone is one of the above models, the answer is no unfortunately.

You could just buy one and test it out, then post it here and write a paragraph review (if it works)

If it doesn't work, just send it back saying if faulty and you're not satisfied with Sony Ericsson accessories. Demand your money back

I think it should work, given the fact that it utilizes the same fast port connector. and P1's OS has all the needed drivers to be compatible with any SE accessories possible.

It might not work because there isn't any UIQ phones on the list above.

I read on an other forum that HGE-100 GPS will be compatible with P1i with a new MR1 firmware version. If we see the list of compatible phones for HGE-100 in SE web, the P1i and any UIQ phone don't appear. Could the same happen with MXE-60?

Sorry for bad english.

People:

I have a P1i and a MXE-60 flash i bought for my last K-750I. I should informe you that it doesn't work on my P1i, regardless that the phone recognizes the equipment as "MXE-60", but doesn't work.

Other issues is that there is not a function on the phone to use the leds it has as flash for the camera as a flashlight, like i did in my k750i, very usefull.

Another thing i find odd is that there is no way to record a conversation with the sound recorder as i did with my k750i.

What are this guys thinking down @ SE? they are walking backwards with this little details.

I guess the bring new phones out so fast that they don't have time to "get in touch" with them before going into the market.

This sucks.

I agree with - rpolancot's post prior . . . I tried attaching my mxe-60 xenon flash with my P990, the fone did RECOGNIZE the flash . . . but did not LIGHT when I press on the shutter when taking some shots

I wonder why this xenon flash is NOT compatible with all 's P-series fones [addsig]

its maybe the drivers arent programmed to work with MXE.

if you open up camdrivers from K750, youll see a special section dedicated for MXE....

so if there are programmers out there that can open drivers from P1, then we'll see how can we insert MXE sections from K750 to P1.. then possibly work sumthin out of it...

any volunteers?!

From what I've tried, any of the new side-mounted ones it wont work with, or anything with software newer than the W850i ( the newest phone I got it to work with ). Even the Z610i wont take it :/

Shame because it's a fantastic piece of kit and v.v.easy to implement.
My opinions on this forum are that of my own and not of the company I work for.

its a shame that SE didnt further the usage of the mxe-60 flash unit, it worked amazingly on the k750i . anyone tried on any newer handsets? if it worked on the c702 it would make the handset even better than it is now!
