I just got the Havanna Gold W910i on Voda in the UK.

Good
Call sound quality
walkman sound quality.
Build Quality
Slider
Thickness and weight
Style

Bad
Camera IMO is not great. No Autofocus (shame 1st review I read said it did have).
SE Media manager (AWFUL SOFTWARE) - I bought the pro for video - It won't even touch a DIVx file.
Protected media files (ringtones) Pop up in playlists in Walkman, no way to remove or delete - very annoying. MyPhoneExplorer doesn't see them.
Albumart. Very hit and miss, not consistent at all, prob very limited file types.
Shake, overrated feature, not sure it's really worthwhile. It's not a Wiimote

My overall impression is this is not really an improvement over the W880i.

My best ever SE was the W810i. Brilliant on all fronts, but my charging connector broke after about 9 months and needs a wiggle to charge now.

Yes MyPhoneExplorer does work, I was able to backup from my W810i and refresh my Havanna with all the contact and calendar info.

Pics attached to prev post. Sorry about the quality.

How is the loudspeaker playing music on your W910, on my Orange branded handset is absolutely dire - the worst I have heard in a long time.

I haven't tried the headset yet (it is the standard Walkman headset) but I have used two identical ones in the past with a K800 and they were alright. I can't comment on the audio signal from the handset because I haven't taken the headset out yet (dunno if I am keeping the phone).

The loudspeaker is absolutely terrible. It sounds like somebody left a pair of headphones on the desk and is playing music through them. Lacks volume AND clarity.

As mentioned earlier, the software seems funny about showing album art. I put tracks on it which show albumart fine in iTunes, Windows Media Player & my iPod Nano 3G - no artwork shown. When I click the "hang up" key on Walkman it stops the player rather than minimizing it, meaning you have to go back through the menus to select "minimize"

The shake function is a huge gimmick. You have to hold the Walkman button on the top of the handset whilst flicking from side to side, which contorts your hands in a weird manner. The volume up/down keys when held perform the same action with much less effort.

The keypad is disappointing too, it is like a shiny plastic version of a Razr, with no vertical gap between keys and hardly any key travel - quite inferior to K800, 6300, W810 et al.

On the plus side, the screen is nice and the handset looks and feels solid.

i got this handset in noble black.

i never use my phones for music, i have an ipod for that. so the walkman feature is of no use to me, i brought it just cos its a nice phone.

however i used it 2day for music at the gym just to try it, and was totally yearning for my ipod:

the earphones didnt stay in my ears at all, also they have to be pushed in really far in order to hear the thumping bass. obviously this is just my ears, so no big deal. also the volume isnt very high.

for a walkman phone, i was dissapointed with the sound quality and could never use it as my main device for music. it was nowhere near ipod standard, which in theory it should be if they r branding it as a walkman phone. also, dunno if its just my phone or not, but when i had the equaliser on megabass, the volume fluctuated very slightly, but very noticable. well annoying. thats the 1st and last time i use a phone as an mp3 player, ill stick 2 the ipod.

to be honest this is not a big deal in the slightest, as i said thats the 1st time ive ever used a phone as an mp3 player. so even if it had no mp3 player at all i wouldnt mind.

things that do annoy me with the handset:

when in a call, there is no 1 touch button to activate/deativate loudspeaker, like in K810. u have to press a button 2 bring up a list of options, and u choose loudspeaker.

also with trackid, u can no longer send the result as a text message.

also the loudspeaker volume isnt very loud at all compared 2 k810.

but can put up with all that as its a great phone!

I'm not expecting too much of it, I just don't see the utility in adding it in the way they did.

Why not hold a different key, or have a global setting "allow shake controls without button hold" or something?

The accelerometer works fine for changing screen orientation, which is all it should be used for until they work the kinks out.

Have you tried using larger tips for the earphones? I find they stay in quite well with larger sizes.

==
Some other pet annoyances:
-not being able to adjust font size for writing/reading messages
-fastport on side of phone (surely not good for headphones?)
-no method to have specific ringtones/message tones in a given profile
EG, I want the Meeting profile to have a "beep" for alerts, and a normal ringtone for the General profile - yet this isn't possible to set up (as far as I can see)

1.dont think it was ever possible with a majority of s.e phone
2 theyve put this in for walkman phones i understand why, because when you put it in your pocket it wont come out..if the port was down the bottom like my old k610 then it always kept comin out
thats why i bought bluetooth headset
3.i havent seen this change.. its same as my w880..and k610
so it seems youve been annoyed by s.e in general..im guessing beats me :s

edit:
and before i go
as if i wont buy this,,was just a little upset
i still love the w910 even if it has a poor speaker..i just wont play music around with it when my friends/girlfriend are around haha

Out of Topic for a while..

Well u can acutally get a better in-ears earphones to get the better thumping sound "Bass" from the phone though.

I use my Shure E3g on my k810i. and it sounds just as good with the same audio format as my ipod. (at 320kbps) After all, the quality of the Earphones plays a part in making the music sound good.

More comments on replies:

Loundspeaker. Def not as good as my K800i, but good enough for listening in the shower.

Headset - Same as my W810i, If you get the right size ear buds - very good sound. Interestingly, the W850i had a much better in line remote, the 910i just has the regular call answer/end button

Voda Branding - May be responsible for some issues, but I think it's maybe deeper than that.

Minimising music player. Def a step back as has been said, pressing back just stops the player, doesn't minimise it. Annoying when you just want to look at a text or a contact.

Fast port position,
I think this is better at the side too, I'm sure that's why my 810i port failed (dropping doesn't help either:))
I really like the way the phone looks, but I'm not sure the functionality is mature yet, which is strange seeing they obviously have most of this stuff sorted (810i is an example of that).
