help me choose my phone. k850i - w910i |

In the past, the 'K' phones have done everything that the 'W' phones have, except that the W phones have often been more expensive due to their Walkman branding.
When I had my K750i I didn't like the media player because it sucked at organising songs, which is a real pain if you have a few hundred on a large memory card. I tried out the W800, which of course, was exactly the same as the K750 except for the media player software and casing.
But, now the K series phones have got pretty much the same media player software as the W series, and they are also still very similar, only difference is the walkman branding.
I'd say go for the K850i, because it has the best camera and also you can use the media player in the exact same way as W series phones. W series I feel is just for people to boast that they have a walkman cellphone 
But, I've fooled quite a few people with my new K800i, sporting a Walkman theme
I tell them it's a Sony, they like it, then I say it's a cybershot 3.2MP, they like it even more, and then I say it's also a Walkman MP3 player with 4GB of space and show them the theme and UI. They like it so much they practically want to have sex with my phone
So, overall, go for the K850i as it is the most superior and you get pretty much everything from the W series except official walkman branding. | |

(im not trying to brag here), BUT i have own many  phones (i collect some of them), and i have never before felt such a robust cell phone like k850.....(it feels very genuine, seems it also have very good quality)
maybe you tried a dummie...they feel kind of cheap...he he

No , ive holded a real K850 , and i don't know why but the K810 build quality seems better too me ...
Well Plank you'ill have to agree one thing , that the W910's style and build quality is better ...

the more and more i think about this i really dont think the camera alone is going to be reason enough for me to choose the k850i over the w910i
my thoughts so far are w910i has better design, better build quality
k850i has better camera. it seems to have several software/firmware issues (as talked alot about on here)
of course when i have both handsets in my hands tomorrow my opinions could completly change.
I could then be in the position (if i rule out the k850i) of choosing between w910i and nokia 6500 slide.
If i am honest, of all the phones, style wise and build wise i would go with the 6500. This could be the compramise between them all. Great build, feels good in the hand, 3.2mp auto-focus camera, not sure what the media player is like though, but then its symbian which means there are always loads of third party apps that you can add but that also means it can be a little slow in its opperation.
wish i could have the 6500 with me tomorrow also to play with for a day or so and then i could be sure about my choice between the 3 of them. |

how can you even say that ??????
have you tried both k850 & w910 some hours ?????
im soooo convinced that have concentrate more on k850 quality then w910...you know why ???????????? (k850 is new flagship)
ps....im not saying that w910 is bad...but better build quality then k850.....in your dreams Pedro........

well i had a play with the k850i for about 10 mins at CPW today and like i have said already my first impressions were of dissapointment. I know that i made them firstly on the look.
function wise as has been said it has everything on there the w910i has but with better camera but i am really struggling to convince myself that this is enough.
its a classic case at the moment of 'style over substance'
style wise the k850i is just not doing it for me at the moment :0( |

Well i also love the W910, but K850 has all the edges in design and features. touch sensitive softkeys are new to SE and it adds head-turning look if you try showing it in streets  but W910 is a pure solid which will not give you worries regarding fingerprint attacks or visible scratches another was that W910's LCD was larger and it's better for gaming for it's proper placement of softkeys, gaming keys(which are absent in K850) and the Dpad position is well implemented. and of course the accelerometer of both was cool!

I think the ergonomics on the W910i are better than that of the K850i. The D-pad on the K850i looks horrible! Do you play lot's of mobile games? If you do, then definitely get the W910i! |

owned both already and can definatly say the w910 feels ALOT better quality then k850i.
no point discussin camera, obviously the k850 is gonna take better pics/videos.
but for everything else, the w910i is better. apart from the cam, it does everything else k850 does. plus it has a bigger screen, better buttons, better build quality, smaller, lighter, cheaper, better looking etc etc.
also phone seems a lot faster then k850i. screen size makes a big diff, k850 screen wasnt significantly bigger then k800, and didnt look much bigger but w910 really does look massive, which is nice.
also the fact k850 can hold 2 diff memory cards is no big deal, not exactly a gimmic but almost. u cant use both cards together, and prices for m2 and micro sd are not that different.
o yea and k850i doesnt have wi-fi as some1 said b4. |

if u wanna give advice, take ur tongue out of k850i's ass then do it.
enough people (neutrals who dont have either phone) have said w910 feels better quality, and enough people have said they are dissapointed with k850i quality. every1 here loves se, so why would we say that for no reason?
there is no doubt at all that K810i felt WAY better quality wise, and so does the W910i.
my phones have always been cybershot K range, and i desperatly wanted to like the k850. ive had k800 then k810, and they were both brilliant. i would have really liked having a better camera, but even that wasn't enough to convince me to stay with k850i.
if the k850 had a 'normal' D-PAD, slightly better materials, a little bit thinner in size and no touch keys (nice idea but like all touch keys they always suffer from lag/freezing/delay on occasions) - it would be the perfect phone.
also to the guy lookin at nokia 6500 slide, the system/menus is no different to nokia 6300. its not like the n series system. but its a really really nice phone though, both looks wise, feels nice and small, nice material etc etc.

Hi im planning to buy k850 too. I want an all rounder phone that i can use for snaps and music. Yeah, i know it must be great in snaps but is the music player that good? I mean, how is the music compared to k750? Thnx. |

Uh, the music player in all SE phones rock compared to the K750.
If you notice, the K750 can't organise the music by Artist, Track or Album, and also if you choose "sort by (something)" then it will not save this.
The only way it keeps order is by sorting it in the time it was added, so that forces you to add all your songs in alphabetical order. Even then, if you have a large card with lots of songs, it takes years to surf through all of them. It's even worse in File Manager because you can't just hit the numpad alpha keys to automatically go to a set letter.
Whereas, on the newer phones, the 'disc2phone' software automatically orders everything in folders so that you can choose to display songs by Artist, Track, or Album, and then you can also sort them yourself and it saves it for next time you go into media player.

@lex, K850 music player is far superior compared to Walkman 2.0 (which means it beats all High-end walkman phones before W910/W960) but it certainly looses to Walkman 3.0 and Touch Player in W960. K850 media player also features MegaBass eq. and has album art display too. but i'm not so sure about the background visualizations found on both W910 and W960 if it's present on K850. but as a whole K850 is an unofficial Cybershot Walkman Phone just like the W900 before | |
