I think it should and will be able to take 8GB MicroSD , CuZ its gonna be the latest phone out from SE.I don't think there gonna make such a new product to only support 2GB MicroSD.

It only says 'up to 4GB' on the M2 because that is the biggest capacity available at present but all bigger sizes that are released will work no problem, notice how it doesn't state an 'up to' value for the Micro SD. In other words, yes an 8GB Micro SD card will work fine. |

I would be surprised if he did in the pdf manual it just says max 4gb of memory but I guess there will be only one way to find out. |

Hi Guys,
What size microSD/s have people got running in their K850i's? I just saw a nice Kingston 4GB High Capacity Class 4 MicroSD Card over at Expansys:
http://www.expansys.com/d.aspx?i=156338
"Class 4" meaning that you should be able to write to it at over 4mb/s .
Anyone got any idea if this would work with a Sony Ericsson K850i?
Thanks
Norm

JP-8 allows the phone to hold cards up to 16Gbytes! so i'm sure whether if its microSD or M2 both can be accomodated at their highest capacity atm: 8GB

actually it's got nothing to do with JP8 per se. JP8 refers to the java platform.
The memory capacity is determined by the memory architecture. The memory stick architecture (including MSPro, MSDPro and M2) physical limit is 32GB. I think it's the same for MicroSD, but you have to use SDHC cards to go larger than 2GB in the micro SD format.
All phones from the K750 and later that take MSDP or M2 can take any card up to 32GB.

1) Sir SonyEricsson Man is already running an 8GB MicroSD in his K850(see users thread)......
2) For accuracy, V/Z800i was actually the first phones to support PRO(32GB) formatting

Actually you are quite correct, Z series slipped my mind (not a big clamshell fan).
And what about P910, it had Pro support, when did it come out?

Max, about the same time as Z800(I run 910 fw on my 900)...however, it doesn't support 32GB, so I didn't mention it......

as mentioned, P910 could only support 2gb PRO duo as the P910 only used FAT16 and not FAT32
