Cant you take it back to where you bought it and get it repaired under warrenty?

Been into town today and they said we only supply a one month warrenty with the shop (fones4u) and that i could try and re-flash it my self, send it back to sony ericsson or claim on the insurrance.

i dont agree with the 1 month warrenty, you should have 1 year warrenty |

you get a 1 year manufacturers warranty. the place of purchase can set their own (usually 14 - 30 days). @taz. it sounds like a boot system fault (EPROM). will need a service center flash if its not being recognised by your pc,seus or wotanserver

Yer your right mate, used a program called setoll2lite and said that the pre boot kept failing and figured out to be the EPROM so just gonna use insurrance pay the excess, the post is on strike so come through a courier on tuesday thanks anyway guys.

I had this happen to my K800i about 3 days over my first month of ownership of it last year. There was no getting it working once this happened.
I took it to the O2 store in town where I'd got it from who said they couldn't replace it for me as I was 3 days over the 1 month period! I asked if they could make an allowance of 3 days in the nature of good customer service and that I'd been with them for years, they said no.
The short of it, O2 store offered to send my phone for repair and said it could be up to a month until it came back. They were also out of loan phones so I'd have to wait for one to come in before I had ANY phone at all! I pointed out that I'd be without a mobile but still paying for their service, again they said there was nothing they could do.
I spoke to the manager, people on the phone, managers on the phone, the lot. All said the same, NO.
So I said I wasn't leaving the store until I got a replacement phone. 2 hours later I got a brand new K800i straight from the box and asked politely to go home.
I picked up my K850i today, just hope this isn't a fault that SE phones have running through them. |

@Esato - Nice story . . . . so, O2 eventually GAVE-IN and replaced your damaged - K800
Ideally, let some months PAST before buying the latest fones, specially hi-end ones so you won't be totally DISAPPOINTED, specially if it's an expensive unit . . . by that time, BUGS have been sorted out and newer firmware will be installed on the fone.

But then its not new and exclusive and thats one of the biggest reasons we upgrade and by gadgets and phones right.
