Aaargh. B*tt ugly! SE should stop these jokes. Who wants something like that?
But I think it's good for road-workers. It matches their outfit. |

Asked in another forum why woudl this be a phone for Orange, the FCC is in america and has nothing to do with phones in another country, there is no Orange in america.

Because its a triband handset, doesn't it have to be passed for use by the FCC regardless? |

well, all the phones have to be tested and approved by FCC before they can be released to the market, like tasting the SAR etc............. Simple as that !!!!!

I just read the manual on the FCC website, it is exactly the same as the T300. They didn't even change the handset pics in the manual. |

FCC tests and approves only phones which will be released in US, so basicly all the phones with 1900 band. They don't care about the dualband phones, which don't work in US. |

But FCC do test all phones and assessories like bluetooth headset etc, check your manual, at the end of the manual, there's always an FCC approval statement !!!!! No matter whether its for US only or what...... |

US Federal Communications Commission has nothing to do with the phones which doesn't operate in the available networks in the US. As I said, phones with 1900 band will be approved by FCC, but not phones with 900/1800 bands.
And yes, I checked a couple manuals. 9210i and 7650 are dualband phones and there's no mention about FCC. T68i is triband and there's a note about FCC approval in the manual. |

I agree with Orange
FCC won't bother approving phones that cannot work in US. Why would they care? -I know they might be paranoïd though - Why would they approve e.g. NMT phones
We have CE (certified for Europe) mark for Europe and FCC for US.
I checked my old 9110i. It doesn't have any FCC reference at all, while my 7210 has for instance.
Anyway, the easy thing is to check FCC's pages (if one can navigate through their mess).

Hey, you kids.
It's actually excellent.
There are more pics at this site (mobil.se, which otherwise is a despicable magazine).
The front and the top is a bit squary but the color-scheme is the best I've ever seen on a phone. It seems to share many features (design-wise) with the new Nokias; but I think it is slightly more mature and has slightly more class.
They are definately on the right track. Good work. |
