Hi amnesia

Sorry but i am totally confused by the point of this petition as i have pointed out both here and on HOFO it is not legal to sell an unsubsidised device that is locked to one Network both here in the UK and the EU so really there is no need to petition the PM as the law already exists to protect consumers.

Also i have never had a problem getting an unlock code even within the first couple of weeks of having a new device and contract. I really think we all need to just wait until the 9th November and actually see what the situation is before starting to work up what action needs to be taken if any. Currently it is just not possible to know what is going to happen as there is a lack of proper information coming from either 02 or Apple. As until either Apple or 02 refuse to sell an unlock code they have done nothing wrong as yet.

Marc

Hey guys. I just posted this over in another thread but it should apply here as well:

Just heard from a friend here in Finland that Apple will have a hard time selling the iPhone in its current incarnation. It seems that it is against Finnish law to have a subscription service that does not include 3G in the phone. Non 3G phones are not available as subscription services packages here in Finland. They can only be offered as pay-and-go. This might be a good thing or Apple might skip this market all together as they have shown how truly greedy that are.

*edited on a Mac of course. Mac: There is no substitute*

N82(YES), iPhone 3G, Shure es530, Nikon D300, more stuff. No more SE stuff, why am I still here?

the petition is simply for the hell of it to be honest.

I signed it because it took a few seconds and there was no harm in just doing something (even if it makes a difference or not )
