Hi guys
Theres some interesting updates for Pay Monthly, Pay as you Go, and most importantly, data! All start from 1st October.
On Pay Monthly the following changes are going to apply, and hopefully piss Orange off somewhat.
Long Weekends is being replaced with one of the two following deals:
- UNLIMITED O2 to O2 calls
OR (and more importantly)
- UNLIMITED UK TEXTS
As usual, this applies to £35/month+ on 18 month. So you can now have 600 minutes and unlimited texts for £35/month, stick that in your pipe and smoke it Orange 
Long Weekends can still be offered, but not as a main deal, only IF requested by the customer.
Pay as you go:
As an alternative for customers wishing to call abroad (we get alot of Indian, Polish and Russian people etc coming in) O2 are now offering the following AS AN ALTERNATIVE to the O2 Online tariff (free texts/calls for £10 a month, the old Genie tariff), Favourite Place or Talkalotmore.
You can get:
-50 international minutes (to any foreign mobile or landline) for £10 a month (as usual, you get to keep the credit).
-100 for £15
-200 for £30 (I think, could be 300 minutes).
DATA:
This is the big one, contrary to what I said in a previous post (possibly due to public opinion, so they changed it).
O2 WILL be offering a deal just like T-Mobile, 3 and Vodafone.
You WILL be able to have £7.50 a month for UNLIMITED data (fair usage policy of 3GB) on both pay monthly AND Pay as you go
BUT, only for mobile data pages, Blackberrys and PDA Phones (any phone that uses the 'Mobile Web' setup rather than 'O2 GPRS' setup) are excluded.
Blackberry is having it's unlimited fair usage policy upped from 75MB to 200MB.
There is a full whack unlimited mobile internet package which is unlimited data for ANY mobile device, including data cards and full internet pages/downloads etc, for £30 a month, again fair usage policy of 3GB applies.
Don't think I've forgotten anything. There will be two other posts relevant to what I found out last night. One about me having played hands on with the N81 8GB, 6500 classic and slide, 7900 Prism and E90 (t'was a Nokia sponsered event lol), and some very juicy news about the NEXT 8800 for next year....

Great news anyway. T-mobile still beats O2 with its HSDPA network but this will surely give T-Mobile something to think about.  rin :

O2 will eventually work on HSDPA, what with them now rolling out Broadband in time for Xmas too.
It's anything you can do on the phones built in browser, just not on Blackberry Devices or devices that use the 'Mobile Web' setting. this mainly applies to the XDA's to be honest, I think it's only the WM smartphones that are affected because they use IE as a full scale internet browser.
But yes, unlimited mobile internet for £7.50 a month, on both pay monthly and pay as you go, finally O2 are in with a chance

Precisely, and O2 Online tariff to boot, I always knew they were best for P&G. Just need to sort the actual tariff costs out now

Ah thats right, the £7.50 rolling contract.
O2 seem to have their HSDPA network up and running according to wikipedia:
"O2 UK launched their HSDPA services across the UK in the third quarter of 2006. Initial download speeds are 3.6 Mbit/s (peak), increasing to 7.3 Mbit/s by early 2008, and reaching 10.2 Mbit/s by late 2009. "

Yep They released it. Now We just got to find it. 
Ive was informed that its £7.50 for 250mb and not unlimited. There was a cap on this?
£30 is for 3.5gb of data.
So unless o2 hae changed it at the last min? |

I have an unlocked iPhone would the unlimited data work with that if i added it to my contract. I use the normal O2 gprs settings on my iPhone. |

Should do I guess yeah, but I suspect that a regular O2 sim wont work in an iphone as they can tell what phone you using with what phone at any time, and even if it is unlocked chances are a regular sim wont work with it anyway.
And thats what they said yesterday, someone asked about the fair usage and he stumbled for a bit and said 3GB, so I'm guessing it should be. I think he said they contact the user after about half that to let them know their getting close.

I'm using a regular O2 3G Sim in my unlocked iPhone right now, works 100% fine. |

lol, fair doos, in which case yeah see no reason why not. Try it and see, it's only a 1 month minimum commitment.
