Hello, on GSM Arena I found out that themes on K850i can also change the menu icons. I'm always making my own themes and as I'm planning to buy K850i next month as it comes out I'd like to create my own menu with the theme too.
First thing I thought: "If themes change the icons that would mean menu can be edited through Themes Creator" which is not true. That would be too easy.
If anybody knows (or can direct me to the web site which has the info) how to create own menu for K850i that will be applied with the theme I'd be grateful for the info!
I currently have K750i which doesn't have a flash menu so I don't know how it all functions. I'm sorry if I missed a thread that has an answer to this question.

well you have to get into the internal FS to put the themes in and as the k850 is DB2030 or something and therefore probably a new CID as SE released the loaders for DB2020 i doubt it'll be too easy

I hoped it wouldn't involve entering the FS of the phone.
They did that the same way, by putting flash files of the menu to the phone's filesystem and not to the theme itself?
How does a theme order the phone to change the menu?

well on the older SE's it is done by using a tag in the .xml file of the theme such as:

Code:
<Desktop_style Type=\"File\" Source=\"DayAndNight.swf\"/>

although on phones with flash wallpaper the flash file has been included in the theme so this may be the case for menu's on the newer phones however i doubt it....if anyone gets a pre-release copy of the FW or some themes i can have a look

Hmm...i got hold of the k850i's themes but none seemed to have a tag leading to a .swf file or even any .swf standby's....strange...either i got branded themes or its a whole new system :S

On GSM Arena there is this picture:

As you can see the K850i has 3 themes and only 1 of them changes icons. Did you examine all of the 3 themes?

I found it's site. I still don't know what will TWUIK actually do, i.e. how will user change menu of a mobile phone?

And one more thing: You all think there is no other way around in making your theme changing the menu icons but using the FAR+SEFP? (on K850i)

I'm just curious because I want to make my own theme before I get the K850i.

If the K850 is CID52, uploading files in it would be easy... Just we will have to upload the flash themes using XS++ if it works and then we're done
