My mum just got a "Netalert- Protecting Australian Families Online" booklet, and she is all up in arms saying that I can't go on forums because I will get abducted. Now that a "certain member" (You all know who he is!) has been banned, is it safe to go on Esato?

Where's all this come from ? Ive been away from esato for a bit. I think that esato is a safe place. Whats this about a recent member being banned (yes_futur) ? What did they do ?

tell your Mum you understand not to give out any personal details. There is danger of abduction when kid's give out personally identifiable information such as address or phone number. It's important that everyone but particularly young people understand that the internet is not the place to be telling everyone your personal details.
For example recently a Cop's daughter advertised a party (and address) on facebook, and suddenly people from all over the place were turning up and the party got out of hand. There is no more danger from the internet than there is walking down the street, actually the internet is a lot safer, as long as basic common sense is observed.
As long as you can show your mother you have common sense, I'm sure she will be satisfied you are safe.

@Alexandra  mean i am not only one who was annoyed by him several pms in a days saying "will u be mine princess" "how are u?"(with it 6 copies  ) "i am ultra rich man, looink for a gf, will u be my gf. I want more then just friends" and lots of other in french language. But i started ignoring him and he became more annoying, started posted after me everywhere usualy saying 'hehe haha' then some really disgusting pms with threats "be my gf otherwise i am ultra rich man for me s*x is the game and loves is just a name lets forget the name and play the game, GE i will make u to come in morocco" *shrug* so i complainted esato authorties and they banned him. But i thought it was only wid me girl anyway for just a caution same yes_futur has joined esato again wid Nick 'lafouid' but yesterday again i got a pm from a nick 'cray ma' not sure about this crazy ma but just be careful wid 'lafouid'
