Old T68 bluetooth issues - firmware upgrade? |

Hi All,
Sorry for the post about such an old phone but searching through i couldnt find anything suitable discussed already.
Basically my mother uses a T68 and it is the only phone we have managed to get her to use and so cant change it. She has recently got a new Toyota Aygo with a built in (and very fancy) in car handsfree. For some reason i CANNOT get her phone to pair with the damn thing. My K750i and other bluetooth phones work fine!??
So I have 2 questions:
- Is there something in the setup which could be wrong here - I have tried all the obvious.
- Is this a firmware issue as this was the first ever bluetooth phone?
If the problem is the second point then obviously this phone is out of warranty and where we live there is NO service centre so taking it in is NOT an option.
Therefore I wish to upgrade/flash the firmware on this phone myself using a data cable that I have. I realise the risks which will be undertaken but this IS something i have done before in the old T10 T18 days (you may notice I have not posted here since about 2000 where i gave people lots of advise on how to do these things). But the phone is useless with the bluetooth working.
I just need to know where I can get the software to flash and the firmware to upgrade (i assume I will need T68i firmware)?!
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Hello.
First of all the phone may not be compatible with the car even after the firmware upgrade.
Ive have a t68i my self which i did the update on, the phone died but luckly where i live the place isnt that far. But i have still had may problems since the phone not working.
In the end the phone has no only the alarm and the erix gamei can use. Mostly everything else crashes.
I can tell you that the Carphonewarehouse ill do the software update at a cost of a aprox £30. but you will need to ask and check with them first.
There is a couple of places on the web, but agin these are at your own risk.
I think however it may be cheaper and a better option is to upgrade the phone. Sorry |

Ditto. How come you had a t68 and didn't notice it was BT/IR capable? Btw, the BT version in the t68 is older(1.0) which makes it incompatible with the new devices.

yes, see the blue light at the top right hand side?
that confirms bluetooth is switched on when it blinks

I believe SEUS can update all these old phones but you will only be able to update with a DSS-20 or DSS-25 sync station. I've certainly updated a T610 on SEUS
other than that you'll need that old DIV 8.4 software and one of those terminator dongles (I've still got one somewhere in a box I think). Then you'll need to find a site that still has the firmware for download, no idea on that one.
