K800i going dead when dropped |

I have recently dropped my K800i on the floor, this made the "Inactive Sim" so i removed the back to put my sim card back in. However my K800i will not turn back on now, this problem also occurred with my Brothers K800i. Is this a problem many people have? Can it be fixed?
I found this http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=141436 but im not sure if it is referring to the problem i am having.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

You dropped your K800i and it broke? If you have gone through the instructions in the FAQ and the phone is still not working then I'd assume that it's time for a trip to the service center!

I fell literally about 4 inches, and was still all working fine apart from the inactive Sim. The same thing happened to my brothers and he says he's heard of it happening to a lot of people. I have noticed when i try and turn it on a red light flashes behind the IR sensor. I just want to know if anyone knows how to fix it themselves or whether i should take it to a phone shop to be fixed? |

A blinking IR led usually indicates a damaged EROM. Try updating your EROM with Wotan |

. . . this is just a SMALL-drop (height) . . . I remember readin' some members here droppin' their fones in floor-building-levels and the fone manages to remain - INTACT, functioning normally.
