a month ago, switched to the t68i and att gsm service (downtown nyc-based)...
first 2 weeks were great, went to paris for a week (also great!)...
last week has been hell. no one can hear me 85% of the time (i hear them perfectly).
have unlimited minutes, use my mobile for my business (my only phone).
att sent me a new t68i...which had a different (!) problem...PLUS the same problem, meaning it is the service & not the phone.
so...what to do? need a phone (system) that works.
gonna probably switch back to tdma; what a f*cking drag.
gsm in nyc has a long way to go.
gonna miss my t68i (sigh) but need my life back!!!

Try T-Mobile. When I visited New York it was amazing. Great reception throughout. I also had a T68i, so you may want to try that out.

AT&T is the worst. Us t-mobile much better. Sometimes with my recharegable sims card I use at&t and it sucks. |

I'd say it's not the technologies fault, but your provider's. Perhaps somehow you have received two faulty units. In any case I'd talk with your provider again to get things sorted before you take such drastic measures

it's definitely where i am...
works better away from my home; even my tdma access is occasionally problematic.
probably due to the building being built in front of me *sigh*
am now on a motorola v60i, no frills but am in phoneland again.
may be back spring 2003.
see ya! |
