As of today, the Sony Ericsson K530 has been released over here in Hong Kong. It has been released as planned (August). It's always nice to see a phone released...this means another one is being prepped. The phone is going for 250$ which I think is a really good price

This is good phone after all. It has many great features (GPS receiver also, but I'm not that sure if this was the model with GPS on it's handsfree). The only thing it lacks imo is the autofocus on it's 2MP camera. But it is OK for users that don't take pictures too much.

Yes this will sell no doubt. Also, it has a funny weather outlook function as mentioned in the press release.
Although it has a lower index I feel this will take over from the K610i, which has been a huge seller in the UK anyway.

Yes, it's considered to be the K610's successor.....

Not much info on this phone around, is this the official thread? It sounds very similar to the K610i.

So is it cheaper or more expensive than a K610? Its not really a successor although it is using the same screen as the K550 afaik and that's supposed to be brighter. Basically I'd buy the cheaper of the two.

That's because you have a T650. And that's how I'd feel if I had one too. The point is this is quite good next to a K320.

What a bad phone. Why do even bother producing phones like this? It is poor, and lacks essential features like a camera, infrared and FM radio, just like the 3G Z series and the K610.

The difference of having or not having an AF camera would change my decision on getting this phone, and this phone with AF is probably sell a lot better than w/o AF |

Looks damn elegant, but the absence of essential features like radio is disappointing |
