I have noticed a lot lately that people keep asking for help with their phones but not saying what phone they actually have.
Please, please, please, people, if you want help the basics like what phone you have help a lot.

Sometimes they think the avatars spk for themselves I think, but it isn't always the case. |

Half the time, they are first-posters! So there's NO avatar!
And many assume one SE phone is identical in function to another....

I will tell you why. Most people fear to say what phones do they have because they think that theirs are not up to standard. Well I think that if that one desperately needs help it is predty useless not to state the type and model he is using.

Don't be ashamed of your K310. I have a T68, T28, and R310 that I'm proud to own.
I've noticed that most (not all, but MOST) and owners compliment other or owners regardless of the model. More like an affinity towards the brand rather than the model.
Unlike Nokia owners that bash owners of lower end models (at least here in the Philippines anyway)

OR, sometimes "they" just forget to mention this little detail
Like I did just recently. I was in the Symbian/UIQ3 forum and forgot to mention P990....
....but let's be honest here... this is not moving the cosmos in any way... help in such cases take then a little longer because "they" have to state in a later post which phone they are talking about.
I think this is much more forgiving then much of some other stuff that goes on here in postings...

jplacson, how true! And if it happens only here in the Philippines, then I'm proud to be an "SE Pinoy"
I can't stop envying people who own Ericsson T39/T39m, such eternal class. I know a girl who won't give up her K500 and I can't find reason to tell her otherwise! And honest to god I always find myself staring at a K310 / K320 in the hands of people... it's just so beautiful to see it like that.
Also, those Ericsson / SE owners (those who truly appreciate the user interface) understand me when I compliment them.
In contrast, whenever I try to compliment Nokia owners for their old-but-solidly-performing handset models, they always think I'm bullshitting them. It is very sad. Just last night I told my former boss that he has a classic, a 6230. He gave me a snort that means, "I know it's old, now get off of me I'll buy a new one soon and it'll shut you up."
I don't know how it is in other countries but here, most Nokia owners care only about having the latest / most expensive model, and don't really understand what their handsets can do. |
