Hi all,

ok, short and to the point:
W710i, WinXPsp2, usb cable. PCSuite d/l is from today. Original CD software doesn't help. phone is on latest firmware as of 29 Jul 07 when i updated it. Dev Manager shows unknown device.
I have had it trying to talk to SE Support, cannot afford to talk to them any more. Also my support ticket has not been updated for 2 weeks.

Please, could someone with a W710i plug it into their PC and use device manager to determine what drivers it is using, then post the list here.

this is driving me nuts, and the fact that every phone model except the w710 is listed in the /program files/sony ericcsson/drivers/signed folder is not giving me that happy feeling.

*edit* PCSuite works fine using bluetooth, but have you tried transferring music over a BT connection - slow doesnt cover it !

so much for short and sweet, and forgive me if this is the wrong forum.

Rgds

Hello,
I also have problems using the USB cable with my brand new Z710i.
I was able to install the drivers but my Windows XP system reboots when I disconnect the USB cable.

I have already been reinstalling several times the USB drivers and PC Suite.

From what I investigated, the folllowing USB drivers are installed for the Z710i when using the USB cable in telephone mode (not in file transfer mode):
- Sony Ericsson Device 116 (s116bus.sys, s116wh.sys, s116whnt.sys)
- Sony Ericsson Device 116 USB Ethernet Emulation (WDM) (s116cr.sys, s116unic.sys, s116wh.sys)

All my drivers are dated 03/07/2007 and are available in the latest PC Suite package (2.10.38 for Win XP).

With these drivers I can use PC Suite to access telephone memory and memory stick and also synchronise contacts with Outlook.

My only problem is that my system reboots everytime I disconnect the USB cable from the telephone (even after ejecting the device properly).

Hope this helps
