where to find SE firmware updater? |
ignis Joined: Aug 20, 2007 Posts: 5 PM |
I remember a long time ago SE used to have this app which would update the phone's firmware to the latest version. I can't find it anymore.
I have SE K810i, and the Software version is
CXC1250811
R1KG001
070418
it feels rather slow and I'd love to update my phone to something newer. |

I've been all over the place, I've checked US, UK and even my local Norwegian support pages, there's not a single mention of the update service.
could I update via wotanserver instead? would that by any chance void my warranty? |

hmmm... seems like has temporarily removed the seus software from their site. Check the support page for you phone later on and you will find the software there. |

yes, using any third party services such as wotanserver would void your warranty

would I be right in assuming also that this wouldn't work for branded phones? I've been trying with an Orange K800i, but to no avail...

so, using wotanserver to update my phone's firmware will void it's warranty and I can't use SEUS because for some unknown reason it has been removed from the official SE site? |

right,i've been trying so find update service on sonyericsson.com but the dedicated page is empty and it seems that the software is temporarily eliminated from the website...
don't know the reason but fortunatley i'm having a copy installed...
maybe you'd be able to find some links and mirrors to the software.

centur, will this version work for k810i? i thought each phone uses a separate version.
I've also tried updating over the air, but every time I try i get a "verification failed" error. what's that about? |

and besides,is it a good idea to try and use SEUS if it's been deliberately deleted off SE's web site, probably for a reason? |

SEUS works with all SE phones,it justa software which recognizes the phone and downloads the update to your phone,so it is not neccessary to have a uniqe SEUS for every phone..
and also trust...SEUS is being used by thounsands and thousands of SE users...
PLUS: have a look at SEUS snapshots here: http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=153472#post2077066

They hopefully are working on the software as we speak.
