its my 1st 3G phone, SE P990i.

my question when i went to one place I noticed a new icon appear on the bottom of the screen and when I tapped it says 3G (then the network provider).

How to use this features, and what benefits can I get on it. btw the logo is a bluish circle

3g is a faster connection, so you dont need to do nothing to put this on. i mean, you can download things faster, etc.

yeah. depending on what carrier you're on, do check the data charges and any other options that use 3G. 3G can also enable video calling, apart from the faster data transfer and a host of other uses. my own operator provides video calls at the same rate as voice calls, with no added data charges. so rather pleasing, that.

you don't have to do anything, if your phone's roaming is set to dual mode. the phone would automatically switch to 3G whenever reception is available, and back to GSM when no 3G is present.
