Please mention the speed you get by using your gprs or egprs connection whatever network or connection plan you're using this is just to know that how much this gprs and egprs technology is reliable

Also people please write any method to help on this low speed problems one solution i know is dap its available on www.speedbit.com it'll increase your downloading speed as it makes upto 7 simultaneous connections in free versions and upto 10 in premium version i am using the free version .this is the only software which worked for me .one more is there speedbit video accelerator available in same site it increases youtube video streaming speed by creating simultaneous connections same like dap but it does not effect much on a gprs/egprs connection but still its good for short length videos

the original gprs standard (2.5g) is 48Kbps with a throughput of 7-8Kbps in practice.

3G gprs is faster, up to 384Kbps or much faster on HSDPA.

but here in india we dont have 3g yet available
well airtel claims that its speed is actually 115.2kbps and downloading speed is 3-5 kbps but i've never gt this much speed and one more important thing is that the speeds arent the same everytime today i checked it showed 21kbps[using edge] and yesterday in night it was just 5kbps[yes using edge only]
i get the same speed on both pc and mobile

well this is because of the voice traffic the data speeds very much depends on the voice traffic in ur area i checked my speed at morning[about 9am] when there was less voice traffic i got amazing speed of 61kbps and only after half an hour till now am getting around 15kbps
maybe in ur area there is less voice traffic thats y u get this much speed
i wish this happens in my area too:roll:

well orera mini has got a different server which is very fast opera mini just load pages frm its server quickly then your phone [from its own speed] fetches that pages
and if u checked the speed thru opera mini that means that was the speed of opera mini server which is no doubt even more faster than this8)

When I downloads I always have an option to choose the speed I wish to use. The best I get so far is in the 52kb/s. However once u choose the highest speed, it turns to be congested and run slowly. I think that even the device you use plays a particular role in the Speed. Some networks have a pre-set speed by default, but I doubt that can work conducively for mobiles because that speed is normaly too high. Mine equalr to 9600kb/s. Check your gprs profile for the speed Iam talking about.
