hi again i have been trying to set up email on my gd87 cos i reckon its gotta be cheaper than mms over GPRS to send messages to people, but i can never seem to connect to the server. if i choose circuit switch instead of GPRS i can access it but then i have to dial up my WAP provider. has anyone else had this kind of a problem? i am using vodafone live for GPRS by the way.

Hello,

The problem you have ( I suspect ) is with the way Voda UK set up their GPRS packages - if you are on the starter pack, you are not allowed to set up an "Internet" APN - surprise, surprise, this is needed for browsing WEB sites and also Email !

It took me ages to find this out, but simply if you want to check, then check your APN - if you have wap.vodafone.co.uk it won't work for email, if you have upped your GPRS package and have "Internet" APN configured ( this has to be done manually on your account by customer services ) then it should work

Annoying, Oh yes.
