Hi guys, I am planning to get an e61i in the future and im just wondering
just how it compares to the e90 in terms of features and capability.

Is the e90 really worth the extra cash?

It seems like the e61i stack up to the e90 pretty well.

Help shed some light on this.

I had plans to get the E90 too, but I concluded that the price difference was not justified. The E61i pretty well does all that the E90 is capable of, but in a handier form.

If you do choose the E61i, you'll miss the following:
- larger screen
- larger keyboard
- bigger RAM
- 3.2 mega-pixel camera

But if you prefer a handier form, a 2 mega-pixel camera will do, and you do not want to shell out 2 to 3 times the cost of the E61i, go for the E61i. Your bank account will praise you for it.

I use an E61i today, and there isn't a thing I needed the E90 for that is not available on it. But at the end of the day, its your call.

Hi all,

As i have owned and used a E61 and now own a E90 there are bigger differences than just HSDPA and a bigger internal screen. Some of the biggest differences are an extra 64MB Ram and the fact that the E90 runs the OMAP 2420 Chip which along with it's graphics technology makes a lot of difference especially on the Multimedia side of things.

As although my E61 did a good job with Multimedia and Music and handled it well it was not as good as my N93 which is why after i sold it i replaced it with a N95 to accompany the E61. The volume through the speakers on the E90 is not as loud as the N95 but through headphones is still more than loud enough and the quality is still there with my previously encoded Music.

For me anyway the E90 is the closet i have come to a complete convergence device one that can handle all i wish it to do. But it is early days my views may change with time but for now it is doing everything i want and doing it well.

Marc

doggmann and co. mentioned some very good points, about what separates the e90 from the e61i. in the end, it's your choice about whether these 'extra features' justify the price increase? myself, i see no point in getting a phone as such, i would much rather have an e61i. or buy a laptop. =).

thanks for the info guys.

- i dont need a 3.2 camera.
- i think the keyboard for e61i is sufficient
- i am also satisfied with the screen size
- i dont need the extra boost in multimedia (according to doggmann)
- extra RAM is tempting

I dont think that the features of the e90 are justifiable for a big price gap between the two models. Plus, it is just like a brick. I dont think I'd be comfortable with it in my pocket. It looks like a jewerly case.
