How do users of new phones find the fast ports location on either left/right side of their handsets?

Do you like the new placement of the fast port over the traditional location (bottom of the phone)?

The side placed fastport annoys me... I like more the traditional location at the botom of the phone.

Ia really dont find any advantage with moving the connector from the location at the bottom of the phone. How does it connect easily on a deskstand or a car holder, if it's located at the side of the phone? It also seems to be more in the way when it's located at the side. I have a Motorola at work where the charger/headphone mini USB connector is located on the left side of the phone, and it's really annoying. (In fact, the whole phone is really annoying, can't understand why they couldn't give us SonyEricsson phones instead...)

I hate it on the side too.

its even worse on these thin fones like my new w890.

its almost impossible to use the fone while the handfree/charger is plugged.

i find it ok.. it prevents the headphone wire from being kinked when i place it in my pocket (imagine if the port was placed at the botton, you have to put the phone in your pocket sideways). i have no problems texting or playing games while i have it plugged in.

I find that the fast port on the w910i to me ideal, especially when holding it in your left hand. The fast port connector sits between your thumb and your finger, as well as allowing you to reach all of the buttons (shake control is considerable when I'm holding it in my left hand).
But on the w880i i really don't like it there, nor on the w580i. They just seem in the way on them both.

it annoys me too
I think they should start to put a miniUSB and 3.5mm jack on either the top or bottom of the phone and give up the fastport
