I can't get m-Router going with my P990i using the Toshiba Bluetooth stack. Clicking the setup button for the Bluetooth wizard only brings up a dialog that has a Finish button and everything else disabled.

I have managed to connect my P990i to PC Suite by setting up a Bluetooth COM port in the Toshiba Bluetooth settings, and then setting m-Router to use this serial port. However, this is useless for the Mobile Networking Wizard. It just continually says "searching for mobile phone."

Any ideas how to get this working?

The Toshiba stack is really nice, but I've always had trouble getting it to work with phones... my last Samsung phone (E730) was really hit and miss. I thought the P990i would be better, but it's almost just as bad. (At least PC Suite recognizes it, but I can't use it as a modem)

Ok, I am guessing that m-Router is not compatible with the Toshiba Bluetooth stack. I noticed that in the m-Router installation directory, there are a handful of DLL files, which each correspond to different connection methods. Among them are libraries for the Microsoft Bluetooth stack, the Widcomm Bluetooth stack, a few other Bluetooth stacks, and some other types of connections (Sony Ericsson USB, COM ports, Palm USB, etc).

There is no Toshiba Bluetooth stack library.

And, best of all, I notice that intuwave's website (the developer of m-Router) is dead. It's owned by one of those advertising organizations, that buy over domains just to squat on them. So, I'd guess that there will not be any Toshiba stack support for the foreseeable future (I would be ecstatic if someone would prove me wrong though).

For the time being, I have managed to get my P990i working as a modem for my laptop by using the Toshiba stack's own setup, and by using some settings I found online that may or may not be specific to Sony Ericsson and my service provider (dial-up with number *99##1). It uses the GPRS Modem connection that the Sony Ericsson Mobile Networking Wizard created on my device when originally setting it up with the USB connection.

So now, bottom line, I used the USB connection to let the Mobile Networking Wizard setup my phone for use as a modem. And then, I setup my Bluetooth stack to use the P990i as a Bluetooth modem, and then entered *99##1 as the dial number. Then upon activating the Bluetooth modem connection, the phone connected using the GPRS Modem connection that the Mobile Network Wizard originally created.

Not as ideal as I hoped, but not terrible.

Other alternatives could be to switch to the Microsoft Stack or the Widcomm stack, which should be compatible with m-Router, thus allowing you to probably and hopefully use the Mobile Networking Wizard solely. However, I don't like the Windows XP SP2 Bluetooth stack, and my Bluetooth hardware is not licensed to use the Widcomm stack...

Why oh why is the beautiful Toshiba Bluetooth stack so poorly supported...
