I noticed this too, my girlfriend has a t65 and sent me a few messages
to my t28 with smilies and they came up as plain text smilies (ie
colons and brackets etc), then she sent me some to my new t68 and they
came up as smilies, but some of them dont exist in the "add symbol"
menu. they obviously exits in the phones software cos it recognised
them, but it only seems to allow me to use the 4 plain ones. i think
her phone has about 8

hmmmm

smilie (i think its supposed to be a kissing smilie- she's convinced
its a duck)

Try searching the forums. There's an exact same thread as this not long ago.

Could someone please list the recognised text symbols that are converted to icons when viewed? (Is it possible to write smilies in this forum without the forum software converting it to it's own smilies?)
