HELP please ! (with vodafone settings on W610) |

HI THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY NOW ,
to start off i bought a w610i phone off a friend that was previously on O2 but is unlocked so i put my vodafone sim card in every thing is fine,i recently tried to access the internet and all i get is communication failure try again or contact operator for support comunication failure contact operator ,i have contacted vodafone and had the settings sent twice still no good so i went to sony ericsson website and got the settings from them still no good so i rang vodafone again and did it manualy over the phone still nothing is there anyone who knows what to do please say there is this is my last hope this forum ive tried everything else
WHATS GOING ON !!!!!
i used the internet on my phone quite often to pass time at work and i fcked without it please help someone

hi there have you tried sending in the settings from the Sonyericsson support site?

How branded is the phone? When you check the internet accounts on the phone are there O2 ones that can't be deleted?

hi ive been through the phone and deleted all account apart from the ones ive had sent the only bit of O2 i can see on the phone is the internet on the main menu when you go on it the globe one it says O2 home and theres another internet button next to that one small blue ball with apiece of papper and it also says O2 home both try to connect to internet
this is my last post today as i am limited to 3 posts in the first day as i am a new member something to do with spam
so please leave your answers i wll update tommorow if or if not any have worked

hi
well, it seems that the phone is 02 branded. so, another thing that could be the reason of your problem is that you have only gsm service only(i think in your phone is CS). there should be an option that has CS and PS(im not sure though), you must set it to CS and PS if im not mistaken.

right this is what i know so far the phone is obviously branded to O2 and this is the main problem so im going to use wotan to unbrand the phone then i want to update the firmware and software are these the same thing ? also what else do i need to update change while im doing this ?

has anyone used wotan if so what do i do ? i tried to download the getting started guide but i cant for some reason , also how much is it for credits ?

your firmware seems to be the first release. the latest one is the R6BC002. and the firmware is also known as the software, but please call it firmware  . in order to view the Getting Started Guide you must have installed the Adobe Reader. A credit costs around 7 euros i think.

wotan credits are 7 euros (about £5).
firmware and software are exactly the same.
