Hi

Could somebody PLEASE HELP ?

I just got the Ericsson mp3 player for my T68

I have Win2k and tried to install the card reader software - this was all going fine and dandy until it came up with the following message :

"device installation failed.this could be due to an existing installation of the same device. uninstall, reboot, and install again"

Is there an extra patch for Win2k or something as I see most people have this combination working - if so, please could you give me filename and location ?

I checked with device manager and it says the new hardware is called SHUTTLE EPATI REV# 00 - obviously this is the information windows can get whilst the software is not installed ...

PLEASE HELP - I am dying to try it all out and cannot for the moment !

Thanks

benjy

1) download MultiMediaCard reader PnP String eraser for Windows 2000. Unzip it. Run "2000Parallel.exe" and follow the on screen instructions.
Download pnperase.zip Here

2) Driver for Parallel Port MultiMediaCard readers running under Windows 95, 98, NT4 and 2000. Version 3.0
Download Ppmmc.zip Here

Hello

Thanks for the answer but...

I ran the first zip file no problem BUT the second file to download ( Ppmmc.zip ) contains a setup.exe, which when clicked, gives the message that the "setup.ini" file is bad - the contents of the file are :

----------------
; This section is used by the Install Shield script to display the
; product name in the initialization screen

[Startup]
AppName=Integrated Installer

[Languages]
Languages = ENGLISH,FRENCH,GERMAN,SWEDISH,DUTCH,ITALIAN,SPANISH,JAPANESE,KOREAN
----------------

Obviously this is not including the ---- !
Now, I checked the other setupxx.ini files and they all have more info in - can someone tell me whats going wrong here - is it a bad zip file, bad setup.ini file, or something else

Your comments MUCH APPRECIATED !

1) Unzip Ppmmc.zip to a folder
2) then run setup.exe (don't directly double click the setup.exe from the unzip program, i.g. WinZip/WinRar/WinAce)

Or try to download the Ppmmc.zip again, maybe the zip file have damaged.

Hi
I had the same problem under W2k. I solved it by downloading an update (www.sonyericssonmobile.com) of the MMC reader/writer software, since the one included on the shipped CD didn't work for me.
