btw, welcome ejayer!
iv'e been using my phone as a music player as far back as the Siemens SL45i which cam with a 32Mb SD card and i could squeeze 10-15 tracks at a time on it... which was better than carrying around a Discman anyway!
but until phones reach 20Gb+ capacity i cant see them totally replacing my Sony Walkman.... |

I've owned both a k750i and a w810i, with hpm-70 and a 1gb mspd. To be honest, the sound quality of Sony Ericsson phones isnt up to that of a dedicated mp3 player.
I am currently using a Creative Zen Vision: M, which sounds stunning, compared to my w810i. It plays DivX movies (a huge bonus over the phones 3gp only support)
For many people, I can see a phone being used as an mp3 player is quite sufficient, but not myself.
I can't speak of the likes of the w950i, or newer walkman phones, as I havn't experienced their playback quality. For my use, having the bulk of a seperate mp3 player and phone is acceptable. |

absolutely not. I tried it a couple of times, once on my n95 and once on a walkman phone, both times i found the experience and sound quality really quite poor in comparison to my ipod. Plus i have 50gb of music which wont fit on a phone for quite a while i think

I use both K750i and M600i. One has better MegaBass, another has better interface.

I use my W810i as my primary music player. I also own 2 small Creative mp3 players as well, but they are spare ones.

I also use my w810i as primary mp3 player. Although it has draw backs like dedicated music players have better sound quality and due to music, browsing and texting battery is always low and can miss important calls some times due to empty battery

If my K750 had a 3.5mm jack or bluetooth support for A2DP, I'd definitely do away with my dedicated mp3 player. But as it is, I'm using a Sony Network Walkman, NW-E002, brilliant sound quality. As much as I'd prefer to have an all-in-one device, it isn't actually too much of a hassle to carry the tiny mp3 player around. |
