Motorola Z9 in development
09-07-2007: The rumour radar was working on top sp[eed today when a new Motorola appeared, the Z9. This sliders seems to carry the new Motorola image and looks very stylish.

The new Motorola is originally made for the American market and due to the fact that Motorola has not announced her Z9 officially it is not known if the device will also come to the European market. Something that is clear though, is that the futuristic slider has received a whole new image and design and that Motorola will ga another way with this device.
The Motorola Z9, which will probably become a new RAZR devuce, offers a 2 megapixel camera and an expandable memory with MicroSD and TransFlash memorycards. The conclusion of these specifications is that the Motorola Z9 is made for the middle segment of the market. The possibility to play music with the device will also belong to the Z9, this because the device is equipped with a musicplayer.
The most special thing about the device is the shiny finish that gives it a modern and sophisticated appearance. Besides this, the buttons of the device are really small and go perfectly along with the design.

and people say the k850i/w880i/t650i etc buttons are too small  
some similarities to the rokr e6/z6?

I must say it does look a but sonyericssonesque
The shiny surface, unorthodox keypad etc.
However, if you look closely at the screen can you can just make out faint images of screen icons - similar to that of those of the P1i?

goldenface, about the icons...Z9 possibly has UIQ 3.x platform. Motorola bought license from SE. |

maybe those small "dots" just tells you where the button area is, and the area is like 5 times larger than the "dot". |

Yeah I think those 'buttons' are just markers for the general area of the buttons. Sorta like the W950's raised bumps, but Moto have made the keypad out of metal.

It should be touch sensitive like the K850 soft keys, and should be in UIQ 3.1 like Z8. otherwise uninteresting

If this is the Z9 is is most definitely not the new RAZR2 as that is the V8 & V9 both of which look much nicer than this device.

NOPE! I'll bet yah those buttons are NOT like the W850's but More like those 1970's buildings floor elevator buttons that you touch the ring faintly and the button lights up on each floor to call up an elevator with.
Kinda like heat/electrostatic sensors. completely horrible design if you ask me.
