My N71 is having memory problems. Firstly, the phone memory details shows that documents is talking 30KB, I have throughly checked and there is no document on my phone.
Secondly, it shows SMS taking 200KB which is also false. I have about 600SMS in my phone. They are talking approx. 6MB of total space, about 10KB/sms. Two things concern me, why isnt the phone showing the actual memory used my SMS, and why are SMS taking so much of space? 10kb/sms is far too much.

ouch 10kb/message? somethings really wrong....when somethings wrong in my phone...try to turn it off...re insert the mem card...or the battery...thats what I do...or maybe you got a virus

The 200 kb is the space occupied by sms and mms templates...
atleast in my case it's such...

I use fexplorer to chek and those folders of mine were huge like 7,8 MB but the phone memory shows 1.6MB . . .Btw i had loads of msgz in my inbox,sent and my folders. .And 15 picture msgz. . .But when i used to check the properties of the mail folder ,it alwas showd 1.6MB but when i used to check individual folders in it THEY WERE HUGE . . .

have you done any particular software update that have fix those?

BTW, N71 is S60 3rd edition.
And no, i havnt updated the firmware, that'll be the last resort.

ya, a character 'd take 1 byte, a typical message 150 bytes or so...
not 10 kB as you portray...

yeah they do tel the size. . .for n72 it was 40MB. .but i didnt did it. . |
