As far as I am aware mate it is not advisable to run anti virus on any phone as it will slow down the running of the phone due to the amount of resources it requires to run!

i have F secure, its on all the time in the background of my n73, never had a virus, but sometimes its good to have some form of virus protection.

its not just bluetooth u have to be aware of alex, you have to be aware of third party applications you might install on your N95, last thing you want is download an application and it having a virus in it.

its amazing actually, only bug I'v noticed is after filimg a short(30 secs) video clip and after it saves i press play in like the camera app(not exiting the camera and going to RealPlayer) and once i do press play it opens real player then gives the message General:phone memory full, close one or more applications and try again, although only app running is camera and now i guess real player and also i have over 60 meg mem left in the phone :S

well when i find a USB cable for it and get a memory card i'm going to debrand it and update to newest firmware as i have like 10.0.0.018 or something which is qute an early one so upgrading should solve the problem

Hi all,

This question has been answered many times on many Forums by people with far greater knowledge than myself and to put it very simply. Anti Virus on a S60 3rd Edition device is a complete waste of both your devices resources and your money. The only Virus is a proof of concept that it could be done and in the hands of Anti Virus company's who wish to sell you their product and get your money.

Many have complained about the lack of access now to the inner workings of their devices due to the greatly improved security in Symbian OS and this is part of the price to be paid for improved security measures. I am fairly sure should their suddenly be any Virus attacks we will all know about it very quickly but until then it really is a waste.

Marc

Hi all.

This is my first post in this forum.

Regarding the virus for n95 I am not aware of but there are spywares of the worst kind already. Take a look at thespyphone.com and you will realise it. How do we protect our phone from such hijackers?

You can go to google on you mobile and search for mobile software for 95 or search for mobile software mall. Ive done it for a friend and it just works fine. Maybe this can even help http://mobilesoftware.com However the above link may not be trustworthy. At most downloads on these methods are free.
