The time to move forward has come but where to?
I love my Gold edition Ericsson (upgraded from t68m to t68i ) But where do I move from here. Which phone on the market can match the size and specs of this wonderfully phone. Each time I find a phone that comes close there is always something that’s missing from the feature list. E.g. Nokia 6610 nice phone but its missing (Blue tooth; tri band). This always happens, I find a lovely phone and there is a feature which Nell (my phone) has over that phone.
Does anyone out there know a phone the same size as the T68i and same Specs. Please let me know…..
P.S
Does anyone out there use High Speed Circuit Switched Data (HSCSD) on their Ericsson ?

Was just having a look at the siemens S55. What a joke of a phone. And as for the T300 there is no BT on it and it looks like a kids phone.
Please help ....
P.S
Anyone using HSCSD ?

you would have to be talking about the 8910i right?
the one with MMS?
It's a bit on the heavy side and I think the slide down cover is a great inconvienience and burden at the cost of cosmetics and I don't think it makes the phone look any better |

If you want ALL the same specs (or better) as T68i then there is no other phone currently available (as far as I know) on the market. I am in the same mind-set as you. I'm well attached to my T68 but always looking for something better. However, I think SE will release a replacement soon. |

I just asked the same question in Life after t68 topic. It would be a real bummer if I buy a new phone now, only to see a lot better phone on Monday. However I don't think I would be able to buy it anytime soon. There could be a year before the actual release. |

The S55 has BT. And it works very well. I tried it with the MSI Bluetooth USB dongle. Impressive.
However, the S55 doesn't support HSCSD...
I still prefer my T68(i)
Cheers

The N6610 do have tri-band. But, as you said no bluetooth. Instead you have:
Downloadable personal applications via Java technology
Integrated FM radio
Polyphonic ringing tones
4096 color display with twice resolution of T68.
Removable cover
Handsfree speaker
Between T68 and N6610, I will choose the 6610 - I can live without bluetooth |

although it's bigger, and there's no email client, or syncml, or voice dialling, or voice control.. not even voice memo.. so in truth it's just another alternative phone and maybe, for you, a better choice. but it's not a direct replacement for the t68 and it's not going to impress a lot of t68 users who take these features (and the all important bluetooth) for granted.
it's been said before, but the fact is there is no phone on the market now that improves on the t68. we're going to have to wait for SE to do that. |

Why is everyone waiting for Monday? Are they having a conference or something?

No, the N6610 it's not bigger than T68.
N6610 - 106*45*18 = 85,9 cm3
T68 - 100*48*20 = 96 cm3
The T68 is 10 cm3 bigger!
About email client. You can always download a mail client as java app |

taller = bigger for me. i appreciate you can download things, but email is an important feature for me (as are the voice features)- i'm far happier having a good client biult in.
i'm not criticising the 6610, it just doesn't do everything my t68 does. it does some other things, which i'm personally less interested in, but it doesn't do basic things like voice dialing that i've been used to since my t28 three years ago- for me that's no good.
show me a phone that does everything the t68 does, and then improves on it, and i might buy it. in a year or so.. |
