not sure anyone discussed this before

but walkman 3 implementation on w910 offer shaker function.

and i remember when Z750 is out...it is touted as the first phone tht support JP8 which allow developer to have control on motion sensor etc thru java app

so i am just interested to know..could walkman player in SE phone being a java app?

Each non smart phone has java based operating system, not talking about just only it's application.

afaik, java (j2me) is not an os in itself, just a platform as jre is in pc...
these phones run symbian s40 os...

@aatuif, s40 is not symbian..

Its the proprietary Nokia OS used in the "non-smart" Nokia phones.. there was a series 30 as well not long ago..

Imo, Walkman player is related with the firmware. As you can flash a k550 to w610 and get w2.0 on your same hardware.

Imho, it's just branding not TOO much related to hardware...

As some of the walkman player v2.0 user will notice...we cannot use the player to play video compare to v1.0

i wonder if someone can access down to the source and fix it

anyway...i get kinda offsetting this thread.

do anyone know any java app which SE phone can use to play back WMV file?

now some of the new phone like S500 and W580 already can play WMA....the problem is...I am not sure can we play WMV.

Actually potentially it could, as long as the phone's processor could keep up with the decoding.
