I just bought a new 2gb Sandisk memory stick Pro Duo for use with my w810i and it appeared fine on my computer and I was able to successfully copy over my files. My computer showed that the memory of my stick had decreased too showing the files had copied correctly. I put it back into my phone, started it up and while the phone showed the remaining free memory, it would not show any files I had just put on. Does anyone know whats going wrong?

edit:forgot to say that I formatted the card on my phone before I copied any files, according to my computer the format is MS-DOS File System (FAT16)

what type of files were these and which folders did you copy them to on the memory stick?

I had 110 aac/mp3 files, some jpgs and some mp4s and 3gp movie files and I put them in the MSSEC folder like I did on my old card, in the appropriate sub-folders (image, other, audio etc)

Connect the stick to the computer and format it, then try again.
Also if u bought it at ebay it might be a bad stick.

Thanks for the help, I'll try that now. I bought it from Amazon market place but I'll try re-formatting and see if it works

I wiped the memory card using Disk Utility on my computer then put it into my phone which recognized it. I then reformatted it on the phone via the file manager and transferred across some pictures. The pictures seem to have worked fine so far so I'll try my other files

Cheers!

I've just added my music across into the audio folder on MSSEMC folder and that walkman in the phone recognizes that these files are here but each time I select one to play it says playback failed. Also, when I go into the file manager on sounds all that appears under memory stick is the link to Sony Ericsson Wap site

I moved some videos across which work fine so I'm not sure whats wrong. MP3s and AAC files are still seeming to be a problem though

Maybe your aac files are encoded in a way that the W810 don't accept
Anyway I did some searching in the forum and came up with this thread that seems to cover your problem.

Thanks for the link, I was just checking out that thread myself! I'm still having a problem and I don't think its the AAC files themselves as they work flawlessly on my 512mb card that came with the phone so I'm still rather confused as to whats happening. Its all music files that I'm having problems with, both mp3s and aacs so I;m not sure what going on

Well, I never said the files were bad, just that the phone don't support all AAC files since there are different modes u can encode in AAC.

Yeah I see what you mean, but I'm using the same files as I have done previously on my 512mb card which worked fine before. I just emailed the trader I bought it from so I hope I'll get a reply soon. I managed to get some files working just using the drag and drop file method, instead of using synctunes which I was trying earlier. it started fine but when it got to 1.53GB remaining space I got an error message: The Finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "file name" could not be read or written. (Error code -36).
I got this message for whatever file I used, even on my other computer
