I know itīs been up here on esato for very many times but I canīt download files larger than the limited 3000 bytes. Iīve already tried changing my default gateway to ericssonīs. maybe Iīm doing something wrong? are there any other gateways that I could use?
or any other solution?

I know itīs possible download files using cable or bluetooth and I usually do so, but sometimes when Iīm out somewhere and for example waiting for somebody, then I take out my phone and look for new backgrounds and screensavers. Iīd also like to download themes. But i canīt.

Iīve also called to my provider and talked about this problem. All they usually do is connecting me to some of their IT-specialists. and these so called specialists usually say something like that: we are currently testing the mms and yes you should be able to download files larger than 3K because mms is usually larger.

what should I do?

OK someone just pm'd me the a similar question so i thought i would post my repyl as it may be some help to you as well:

hmmm yes u can but u may have a problem as most (all uk) networks wont allow u to download files over 3kb. this is why all the pics on esato are 3 kb or under!

there is a way round this though and that is to set up a wap option with a different ip address that will allow u to dload files over 3kb.

the one i use (halebop) i read a couple of days ago isn't working now but there is a thread with some new ones.

it doesnt cost anymore to use the different ones as far as i'm aware - it didn't on the old one i used and u can dload very large files - themes etc vie wap with them

ur other alternative is to only dload files under 3kb - there are a few i think - they are not too good but better than nothing. or u could get a data cable.

try this link for new ip's or halebop (the old one)

or do a search on large data files etc.

i hope this helps [addsig]
