The idea of having a display for the phone in your watch is quite cool, and baybe useful, but the current phone models are way too big, way too heavy, way too expensive and way too short of battery time inorder to a make a broad success imho.

I think the high price is as much about keeping it as a premium product than anything else, and I can vouch for the fact that the battery life is excellent. I've not charged mine for two weeks and the battery is 2/3 full!

According to the specs, the MBW-150 has a battery standby time for a week or so for the bluetooth functionality and an extra week for the clock. My watch (without bluetooth facilities) needs a new battery every 5:th year or so...

This now available on the UK SE website through their shop for £199.99. The MBW-100 is now only £149.99. I personally think the MBW-100 is a lot better value.

@brym: anyone can post up bad reviews of any manufacturer and thier phone. It seems the war chiefs of nokia are reprehensive (or is it scared?? ) to go into head-to-head battle. The rules are easy:

RULE 1: PICK ONE NOKIA AND ONE SE PHONE WITHIN THE SAME PRICE RANGE (is within 3k acceptable to everyone?)

RULE 2: SPECS, PROPERTIES AND THIER PERFORMANCES ARE MATCHED UP. (I refrain from adding aesthetics cos beauty is in the eye blah blah...)

RULE 3: THE PHONE WITH THE BEST RESULT (assuming we can ever get to that point!) WINS THE ROUND AND THE POINT FOR ITS MANUFACTURER. THEN WE MOVE ON TO THE NEXT PHONE.

I believe that both manufacturers have enough phones in each stable to urk out 5 or more matches. Is everyone game? If so who proposes the 1st match up? The ball is in team nokia's court.

@pxt: the subscriber was vexing cos he paid for internet access 3wks earlier but hadnt had access from his computer. In normal bad cc fashion, instead of offering to renew his subscription (even though he was at fault for allowing 3wks to pass before complaining) they told him to return the next day. That is when he blew up.

@amby: im still waiting for the celtel postpaid info!
what does your post have in common with the mbw-150? YOU ARE TOTALLY OFF TOPIC. [addsig]

I dont know if it is wrong to ask about the MBW-100 in this forum however am desperately trying to find a solution and curious if anyone is experiencing the same problem on a 150 watch.

I use K850i and MBW-100, which pair up fine (phone even has a watch icon) and caller ID works a treat but I just cannot get the watch to tell me there is a text message. I have checked every setting I can possibly find and all are ok. Could it be a (holds his breath) compatibility issue?

Any help is very much appreciated.

I can confirm your issue,mbw-100 and abacus watches do not get a notification icon for incoming messages all other functions work well. i think it's a software related issue. wait for a new firmware upgrade on the k850i and maby that will solve the problem. [addsig]

I ordered my Classic MBW-150 on pre-order 26th October. Despite showing as in stock on their uk website I've just phoned them to be told they are not expecting stock until 19th November. Very annoying, it should be showing still as pre-order still surely on their website as they've never had stock of it.

About the BT watches not showing SMS notification on K850i:
I don't know which software you have, but it should work on the latest one (I just tested). BUT all three watches (100, 150 & Abacus) only show it if you don't have any previous unread SMS (this is true for all phones).

In other words, the watch only notifies you when the SMS icon in the phone's display appears.
