I don't think the P800 really exists |

I only saw wag the dog once, but along those lines I have to question whether the P800 actually exists. I think that SEMC have produced a handful of teaser models that have leaked their way into the hands of the lucky. Why would they do this? Its just plain funny.
Both Sony and Ericsson have been able to handle their respective major releases of products before; and SEMC would not be losing money if it could just get the products onto store shelves. We all love their products, but if we can never get them, its hard to remain optimistic.
I'm just going to stick with my faithful T39 until I'm visited by the P800 fairy. |

I'm beginning to wonder if SonyEricsson really exists. Their press releases say that the company has 4,000 employees. Making mobile phones and selling them is the only thing that company does. So, if 4,000 people wasn't enough to finish the P800 on time (even though most of the software was done by Symbian), it makes you wonder what are all those people doing in SE and just how big are their problems.

Fair enough: At SE they question themselves: "does our byers really exist?".... |

After chatting about this with ShadowArmor so long I guess he finally posted on the forum. You have to wonder about the P800. They just keep shifting the date further and further back. The official press release was in March of 2002. It's been nearly a year since this whole P800 craze. Is Sony Ericsson actually a company? I thought is was a joint effort between Sony and Ericsson only. Anyways it's always good to check on the validity of a company and it's products. At least SEMC didn't leak info like Motorola. I have to say, that incident was embarassing and could hurt them seriously. |

Meiwing and I have chatted P800 for the last who knows how long. Back in February or earlier he sent me some weird pics of a concept product that must have evolved into the P800. When the SE joint venture was formed and the first portfolio built, it just seemed to be a dumping ground for older Ericsson and Sony phones (most of which were 900/1800 and not going to make it to the US anyway).
That notwithstanding, I've talked meiwing out of buying the XDA, the t66, and god knows what else in order to wait for the P800. How can Sony Ericsson disappoint that face...
Plus, many moons ago Ericsson threatened to pull out of the venture if they didn't start seeing some profit in a few quarters from now. Sony haven't said much. Seems like the only joint in this venture is the one that the manufacturing team are smoking when they should be producing our P800s!!! |

don't worry because of the delay the price is already down to 600-800€ instead of 800-1200€
With Ericsson and Nokia gone: we must keep their spirits alive and buy JOLLA or YOTA |

Prices will be different all over the world. It's not as simple as just a standard price. While parts of the world such as Belgium will have an early release, their prices will be in the ranges of EUR600-EUR800. This could possibly be even higher depending on the retailer. For those in the USA, the P800 is currently selling in the USD800-USD1200 range for the initial released import units expected in December. Keep in mind, that these prices are sans subsidy. Most US carriers will probably subsidize the P800 launch to achieve a marketing price of USD300-USD600. This also means that at that price, you must sign a contract. Amazon.com on the other may have a unit priced dramatically lower in the USD200-USD400 range with contract. |
