"Emergency Calls Only" K750i |

My K750i was working properly earlier yesterday but in the afternoon it started to show "Emergency Calls Only" I thought maybe the local tower was down, but just to be sure I tried a different phone, the T610 showed 3 bars of signal and I could definitely make calls with it.
I tried rebooting the K750i, even tried a different SIM card, also tried to manually search for networks, none of it helped.
Any suggestions on how to fix my phone? I need to get it fixed before I leave on a trip over the weekend.

Try a firmware update and see if that helps at all.
The phone isn't blocked/barred at all is it, have you had the phone from new or is it secondhand?

I bought the brand new phone myself in '05, it was replaced by Sony Ericsson in later in the year with another brand new phone, it was working fine until yesterday afternoon. I don't think it's barred all of a sudden after being fine for over two years.
I'll try the firmware update route.

@rif - I'm not sure if this will work with the K750, but I've experienced this with my T68i, even getting a NO ACCESS sign . . . I tried removing the SIM CARD and started scratching the part where it has this gold-plates AGAINST my jeans, say made a rub for 5-10 times, then the fone starts to work . . . I always do this everytime I am experiencing this Emergency Calls and No Access signs . . . Good Luck !

@rif - Just do NOT over-RUB it OK as you might lose the contacts in your phone book . . .

beside what JoJo said,
maybe need to trick down by search network, select network
or even re-activate GSM and GPRS network connection.

This just happened to me after I changed the casing on my K750.
Probably not the same problem but I opened it back up and pryed the contacts for the aerial up a bit so they made better contact with the board and now its perfect. Probably only try this as a last resort.

I am not sure what fixed it, but it is working again. I had left it without the battery inside overnight and then tried it again and now it is working. Must be a fluke error or something, glad it's gone now and hopefully it won't come back!
Thanks for all the suggestions!
