Hi all,

I have the following problems with my W880i (which I otherwise love):

1. Sometimes I cannot make a call. The phone says "network problems" (I don't know the exact English term, my phone's language is Swedish), but I never got this problem with my old phone (SE K600i).

2. Sometimes (at least once) people couldn't call me even though I had good coverage. I realised it when I tried to make a call, got "network problems", restarted the phone and could call. Then I got several voicemail SMS:es.

3. Sometimes when I call someone I can hear them but they cannot hear me, or vice versa. It is as if my microphone was not working, but my speaker was (or the other way around). I just make a new call and then it often works, but it is super irritating, especially if I don't know who has called me.

The worrying thing is that I have two firends with W880i, and they have experienced the same problem (at least 1 and 2 above). I do not think it is a network problem, since at least one of the friends is on another network (the other I don't know).

I have upgraded the software to R1KG001 which is the latest version (the phone now says "you have the latest software" if I try to upgrade). The problems persist.

Has anyone of you guys out there experienced the same thing? Or did the three of us just get a bad batch of W880i?

I am asking because my sister is going to buy a new phone and I don't know what I should advice her. A W880i or not?

Best Regards,

-J

I don't think it is a network problem - my friend is on another network but experiences the same problems. Plus: I didn't have these problems with my old phone.

In the configuration menu -> mobile networks-> GSM/3G networks -> Disable network type 3G & GSM and enable GSM only...

This may help you...
